I think Santi Carreras has settled in really well. That relationship with Max Ojomoh and Ollie Lawrence is key and that's what's probably got them on to the front foot.

They are the dangerous ones in that Bath side that are causing Exeter absolute havoc.

  2. 'This game is probably half won'published at 15:57 BST 13 June

    HT: Bath 26-10 Exeter

    John Lockyer
Former Exeter Chiefs captain on BBC Radio Devon

Exeter's scrum was just not able to cope with the pressure and that will be a worrying sign for their coaches.

They always say that, if your scrum gives way, 'no scrum, no game'. At 26-10, it looked like there was going to be another score and then Exeter defended like demons.

Bath will be very, very pleased. Their pack - particularly their scrummage - has been so powerful.

This game is probably half won, but Exeter are the comeback kings. An early score would make all the difference but it's going to be difficult for Exeter.

  3. 'Bath have been dominant'published at 15:54 BST 13 June

    HT: Bath 26-10 Exeter

    Martin Haag
Former Bath lock and coach on BBC Radio Bristol

Exeter showed glimpses of what they can do with the ball but they haven't had the ball and Bath have been dominant. Set-pieces have been great, line-out has worked tremendously well and we talked about the scrum with the turnover and power there.

Exeter are just having to defend at the moment and they need to find a way to stay in this game because it could go away from them in this next 10 or 15 minutes.

  4. 'Plenty of exciting history'published at 15:52 BST 13 June

    BBC Radio Devon commentator

Let's not forget that, in January, Exeter were 26-0 down against Bath and got it back to 26-26 [in a 33-26 defeat].

Even though it's hard at the moment to see how they're going to get back into this, there's plenty of exciting past history for Chiefs fans.

When the pass is thrown from 5 yards outside the 22 and caught on the 22 it's probably a forward pass. No consistency in the call for Bath's third try and Exeter's first disallowed one.

    Dave, Bristol

Why not kick a simple drop goal and save your forwards’ energy?

    Time for a breather.

Bath hold the aces after a dominant first half which has seen them score four tries and given them a commanding lead of 16 points.

Exeter have not been able to get enough possession and suffered a damaging yellow card to Henry Slade early on but they did score a memorable try through Christ Tshiunza to give them hope.

Lots of work for Rob Baxter and his men to do if they are going to get back in this, though, with Bath looking in fine fettle.

    Worth a shot... possibly.

Santi Carreras' drop-goal won't make the highlights reel.

    Half-time is nearly here.

You've got to give credit to Exeter. They are not giving up and they are staying in that battle against Bath in those tight areas and making real good decisions on edges.

Watch the discipline, keep their penalties down, in fact don’t give them any more.

Bath really aren’t missing the most overrated player in rugby…

Exeter are having to do an awful lot of defensive work here.

It's a hot day and they will be feeling it against relentless Bath attack.

But out of nothing Bath spill the ball and Henry Slade runs it back the other way before being reined in by Santi Carreras whose tackle gets a cheer like he scored a try!

Slade didn't have the pace to get away - maybe kicking deep into Bath territory would have been a better option as he was tackled into touch.

  11. 'The kick was brilliant'published at 15:43 BST 13 June

    Bath 26-10 Exeter

    John Lockyer
Former Exeter Chiefs captain on BBC Radio Devon

Do you know what amazes me? We say this every week: this lad, Henry Arundell, never gets a pass.

He's an international winger. Isn't it sad that you've got such a wonderful rugby player and he doesn't get a pass?

He did brilliantly to score in the corner, there. He didn't get a pass - he got a kick. But the kick was brilliant.

What a devastating scrum that was: Exeter put the ball in 20 metres out and they were driven back. The ball then came out on the Bath side.

Exeter musn't concede any more before half-time. One more score and I think they're out of the game.

  12. 'A super try which came from the scrum'published at 15:43 BST 13 June

    Bath 26-10 Exeter

    Martin Haag
Former Bath lock and coach on BBC Radio Bristol

It was definitely a speculative kick from Ben Spencer because they knew they had the advantage.

Sometimes, when you have the advantage, it pays off and when you've got somebody with the quality of Henry Arundell on the wing and the pace...

A super try and it all came from the scrum. The turnover at the scrum, the power of the front row is just immense.

More international contributions from Andrew, a Northampton fan in the Netherlands who will be keen to see who his men will face at Twickenham next week.

Also hello to Pete the Bath fan in Bergen. I wonder if his favourite player is George Fjord?

Try: Bath 26-10 Exeterpublished at 32 mins

    Henry Arundell, con missed (Carreras)

Do Bath have a fourth try?

Ben Spencer sends a soaring kick wide to Henry Arundell who takes the catch in-goal and dots down - it's just being checked that he did so before going out of play...

    And he does!

A great finish from the Bath and England wing who is perfectly aware of his body position on the pitch and touches down under pressure from Chiefs wing Paul Brown-Bampoe.

A first miss from the tee from Santi Carreras with the conversion.

  15. 'Ridl's right leg has heavy strap'published at 15:38 BST 13 June

    Bath 21-10 Exeter

    John Lockyer
Former Exeter Chiefs captain on BBC Radio Devon

It's something to do with Campbell Ridl's right leg, I imagine, because he's got a heavy strap.

Bath are pushing Exeter back. This is an amazingly physical game.

  16. 'Ojomoh and Lawrence having a field day'published at 15:38 BST 13 June

    Bath 21-10 Exeter

    Alex Cuthbert
Former Wales and Exeter wing on BBC Radio 5 Live

Max Ojomoh and Ollie Lawrence are having a field day at the moment.

That was the battle I was looking forward to - those two against Len Ikitau and Henry Slade.

    There's some proper quality, there.

  17. Replacementpublished at 31 mins

    Bath 21-10 Exeter

Exeter winger Campbell Ridl is substituted, with Ben Hammersley taking his place.

It appears to be a tactical decision rather than an injury.

Ridl has been a breakout star this campaign and will hope that is not the end of his season.

  18. 'Exeter made the mistake'published at 15:36 BST 13 June

    Bath 21-10 Exeter

    John Lockyer
Former Exeter Chiefs captain on BBC Radio Devon

This is a fascinating game because you've only got to have one mistake.

Exeter made the mistake, missing a tackle in midfield. Joe Cokanasiga is a very, very big man and exceptionally quick.

Again, it all started with Alfie Barbeary setting things up. Greg Fisilau made a great tackle and I thought Exeter might have intercepted it - Stephen Varney was very close - but it ended up on that right wing and down the touchline went Cokanasiga.

    Entertaining game.

  19. 'Cokanasiga has started well'published at 15:34 BST 13 June

Really pleased for Joe [Cokanasiga]. He's started this game very, very well.

    A lovely try.

    Bath hit back immediately!

This is turning into a great game and after an initial burst by Tom de Glanville, centre Ollie Lawrence makes good yards before spinning the pass wide to Joe Cokanasiga who shows his pace to race away to the line.

It was a four-point game for a very short time as Bath re-establish their 11-point advantage.
