    Leicester are relentless.

The Chiefs' 14 men are defending desperately and a knock-on decision against Tom Whiteley gives them a little breathing space for now.

Still well over a quarter of this game left, though.

This just gets worse and worse for the Chiefs.

They concede a penalty try after Will Searle kicks to the corner and Leicester win the line-out.

Oh, and Martin Moloney is sent to the sin-bin as well.

Really, really smart play there from Van der Flier, brilliant try, so sneaky, the ball was literally out as it was on the line so it's fair game.

That again came from intelligent play from Tigers. The little kicks to the corner, Billy Searle put them under pressure and again that effort to squeeze into that dead ball area.

Great start to the second half.

    Controversial!

Billy Searle's dab over the top is collected by Exeter full-back Josh Hodge, who is pinned right on the line.

Exeter attempt to get the ball clear but Archie Van der Flier does his best to force it over - and after checking the replay, referee Hamish Smales agrees.

The teams are back out there, the rain has eased off - but will Leicester Tigers?

    Exeter get things moving again.

That's how Exeter Chiefs must be feeling after seeing their defence torn to shreds several times in the rainswept first half.

This would have to be some comeback from Rob Baxter's boys in the second 40 minutes.

  7. 'Forget the first half'published at 16:20 GMT 15 March

    HT: Leicester 35-7 Exeter

At least that will give the half-time talk a little bit of hope for the players but I'm sure the Exeter coaches are going to have to work jolly hard in that dressing room to lift these boys.

They are very proud youing men that are playing for Exeter and they will obviously want to put something on teh board in the second half to lift the morale.

The only thing you can say is forget the first half and start again, start at 0-0 and see if we can win the second half. At the moment it was an embarrassing 25 minutes, and Chiefs conceded so many scores quickly and it is a cup final.

  8. 'Tigers were insanely good'published at 16:17 GMT 15 March

    HT: Leicester 35-7 Exeter

    Tom Varndell

It really was a brilliant first-half for Tigers. Apart from that last play right at the end it has been all Tigers.

They way they've played in terms of their speed to react, their attacking structures, beautiful to watch.

Three tries in 12 minutes, I've never seen anything like it especially in a final. It wasn't that Exeter were playing poorly it's that Tigers were just insanely good.

And that's the final action of the first half - which, despite that late score for the Chiefs, has been somewhat one-sided.

That's more like it, Exeter! The ball breaks loose from a lineout and Ross Vintcent scoops it up to dart over.

Josh Hodge adds the extras and the Chiefs are on the scoreboard, at any rate.

Again the Chiefs build possession, but Leicester's defence is solid and the move founders as we approach the turnaround.

You have to wonder whether Exeter will want to come out again - and not just in case we get another heavy downpour.

Swiftly followed by his fifth conversion - and we're not even at half-time.

Leicester were queuing up to score...

The break comes from deep inside their own territory and Ollie Hassell-Collins races downfield before Tom Whiteley hooks the ball across to the right-hand side with three Tigers team-mates waiting.

Will Wand is the man who collects and literally strolls over the line for his second of the game.

  14. 'The weather has completely changed it'published at 15:59 GMT 15 March

    Leicester 21-0 Exeter

    Tom Varndell
Former England and Leicester wing on BBC Radio Leicester

A little bit of the quality has gone out of the game from that first electric 12 mintues with three tries.

The weather has completely changed it - a couple of dropped balls, knock-ons and Tigers now need to give themselves a little bit more depth on the ball because they're not going to have the same amount of time with slippy conditions.

So nearly a fourth Tigers try.

Tom Whiteley breaks on the blind side and releases Harry Palmer, who scoots down the left flank but is halted just short of the line.

In this rain, he did well to hang onto to the ball as long as he did...

  17. Postpublished at 15:50 GMT 15 March

The rain is teeming down now and Exeter are trying not to get swept away.

A decent spell of possession for the Chiefs, who march upfield without much tangible reward. They need a response though!

  18. 'An absolute disaster'published at 15:48 GMT 15 March

    Leicester 21-0 Exeter

    John Lockyer

That's an absolute disaster for Exeter.

The pass was telegraphed and Searle picked that up and went under hte posts and we've only played 12 minutes. Billy Searle didn't want any second asking.

The Leicester crowd after 13 minutes of the first-half I think they think they've got this in the bag.
