    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

Cardiff are so close to a third try!

Tom Bowen races away down the right wing and fires the ball inside to Harri Millard, he tries to find Aled Davies but Flannery gets a touch on the ball to glance it back on the Ulster side.

If that had stuck it would have been a walk in score.

That was a beautiful passage of play from Ulster.

Bowen just does enough to force Stewart to put his right foot into touch and it was the right decision.

We've only five minutes until half time.

It's not been a classic, but it's not exactly dragged either.

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

Cardiff have the throw on their own five-metre line, and Dafydd Hughes finds his man.

That was a good throw under pressure, and then Ulster give away a penalty for good measure for not rolling away.

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

It's so close to being brilliant from Ulster.

Bryn Ward races away and sets Tom Stewart off from outside the 22.

He's pretty rapid for a hooker, but Tom Bowen does just enough to make him stumble and a foot brushes into touch.

Good play from Ulster and good defence from Bowen.

  6. Postpublished at 20:43 GMT 13 December 2025

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

Conor McKee sends it high into the Cardiff night and Werner Kok wins the collision in the air, so Ulster get it back just inside the home half.

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

That's refreshing as French referee Evan Urruzmendi says there's nothing in it.

So we're back to a Cardiff scrum.

  8. Postpublished at 20:40 GMT 13 December 2025

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

It's for a potential high shot from Ben Thomas on James Hume.

There was slight head on head, but Thomas sort of absorbed his man rather than initiate contact.

After the way the autumn internationals were officiated, I've no idea what the outcome will be here, but there wasn't a lot on it.

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

We're going to the TMO for something.

I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure what for.

  10. Postpublished at 20:38 GMT 13 December 2025

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

Cardiff now win the scrum midway through their half after Jake Flannery's pass was deemed to have been forward.

He's taken a knock for his troubles.

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

Ulster are held up over the line!

That was some huge Cardiff defence, and I think it was Leigh Halfpenny who got under David McCann and the ball.

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

Cardiff go early at the scrum and are penalised with a free-kick.

Tom Stewart and Bryn Ward bring Ulster up to five metres out.

  13. Postpublished at 20:34 GMT 13 December 2025

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

In what has been the story of Ulster's half, some good work is ended by a handling error, this time from Stewart Moore, and Cardiff will have the scrum.

  14. Postpublished at 20:33 GMT 13 December 2025

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

Ulster claim the throw and the visitors are looking for the second try to level this one, at the very worst.

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

Flannery has been kicking well and gets Ulster up to the fringes of the 22.

  16. Postpublished at 20:33 GMT 13 December 2025

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

Kok takes his next kick, just outside the 22, and he's caught in the air by Tom Bowen so Ulster win the penalty.

  17. Postpublished at 20:30 GMT 13 December 2025

    Cardiff 12-7 Ulster

Flannery sends the ball into the air and it's collected by Bowen, and Werner Kok drives him back to his own 22.

Cardiff manage to clear, and Kok drops the ball so the hosts will have the scrum.

    Nice set piece from Ulster.

Ulster get the trundle on and Stewart at the back, he still has a lot of work to do, spins inside and evades the tackles.

Ulster are back in the game.

    Tom Stewart (con Flannery)

    The try machine strikes again!

Ulster hooker Tom Stewart breaks away from the maul to crash over the line.

He wasn't going to be stopped from there.

Flannery nails the conversion from out wide.
