I don't think there's any excuse of how poor Japan have been off launch play so far today.

Everything is isolated.

It allows Dewi Lake, Nicky Smith, Alex Mann in over the ball and it's another first phase turnover.

Wales are finding their feet in this second half, but they are not putting Japan under too much pressure yet.

The win is the most important thing for Matt Sherratt's side today though, and as things stand they have a two-score lead.

Sam Costelow sends the ball high into the air, but his kick is a couple metres overhit, which allows Ichigo Nakakusu to call the mark and claim it.

Another penalty goes against Japan at the breakdown, Shuhei Takeuchi clearly playing the ball while off his feet.

As they have done numerous times in this match, Wales kick to the corner with the penalty.

It was a poor defensive read from Johnny Williams, that was what allowed Japan across the gain line.

A clear knock on from Shinobu Fujiwara and an easy decision for the TMO.

A let off for Wales, who will be increasingly nervous the more time goes by if they have not killed the game off.

Japan are over, but the ball was bouncing all over the field in the build up.

The referee doesn't have much of a clue, to be honest I'm not sure how much refereeing he has done.

All the decisions seem to be coming from the linesman.

But once again the driving maul falters for Wales, as they fail to get any momentum and are held up by the Japanese defence.

I was optimistically hoping for a brighter start to the second half, but as things stand it is just more errors from both teams.

More frustration for Eddie Jones, as a simple box kick in midfield goes out on the full.

This time Wales look to use the driving maul but Nicky Smith is penalised for obstruction.

Not to worry for Wales, as Japan had been penalised for offside. It will be a Welsh penalty from five metres out, which Sam Costelow boots into touch for a line-out.

It's an almost identical line-out routine that led to Wales' first try of the game, but instead Taulupe Faletau goes right to Dewi Lake, rather than left to Ben Thomas.
