Cardiff captain Josh McNally said: "That's exactly what we asked for earlier in the week, 'let's not leave anything out there'.
"It would've been nice to get the win and see where that leaves us, but I'm proud of the group, all year we've fought for everything, this group is going somewhere.
"We fought really hard, I can't ask any more of the boys and I'm extremely proud of our performance."

FT: Stormers 34-24 Cardiff
The honour goes to the Stormers wing who scored two tries on his 50th appearance for the Cape Town franchise.
The 21-year-old former Llandovery College player said: "Today I was playing for more than just myself, I was playing for that little boy in the streets hoping to be like the people they see on TV.
"We're hoping to carry on the momentum we have and take that to the quarter-finals."
