Fantastic play from Leinster. Relentless ball-carrying, but not predictable. They damaged the Bordeaux defence enough and created just enough room for O’Brien to go in untouched on the right. A great collective effort from Leinster.

    Two of the best about.

The battle at scrum-half may win this one. They don't get much better than Jamison Gibson-Park and Maxime Lucu.

  18. Never write off Leinster - Connorpublished at 14:43 BST 23 May

    Leinster v Bordeaux (14:45 BST)

Former Bordeaux wing Blair Connor is confident of a win for the French side, but is aware of Leinster's pedigree in Europe.

The Irish province are chasing a fifth European Cup - only Toulouse have more.

Last year's victory in the competition was Bordeaux's first major honour," he said.

"Bordeaux may be favourites, but Leinster's culture of winning means you cannot write them off.

"If everyone turns up and plays to their level, Bordeaux are unstoppable.

"If they then went on to win the Top 14, the town would party for a week. That has been the objective from day one. The European Cup was meant to come second."

The European finals weekend really has been a superb festival of rugby.

I'm looking below me in the media gantry and I'm not only seeing Leinster and Bordeaux jerseys, but also a mix of Glasgow, La Rochelle, South Africa and what look like some local club teams too.

There have even been a few Ulster shirts after the disappointment of last night.

Bilbao has really delivered as a host city and, no matter where your loyalties lie, everyone has been enjoying the whole weekend.
