The US Open tweeted an update a few minutes ago, which read:
"NYPD are in the process of resolving a fan disturbance. Play will resume as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience."
It's been what, at least 40 minutes since play was suspended?
Hold on, we have players back on the court!

A huge cheer from the upper followed by boos.
Looks like the NYPD officers have marched the final protester up the stairs and out of the stadium.

Back at Arthur Ashe Stadium...
It's been well over half an hour since the last point played between Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova, following a disruption in the crowd.
A few protestors began making noise and, while most were evicted fairly quickly, it appeared for one reason or another that one could not be quickly dealt with.
But it appears there has been movement, and we could be welcoming the players back soon.
Hewett/Reid 3-1 Houdet/Sanada

Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid have got an early break in the first set against France's Stephane Houdet and Takashi Sanada of Japan.
The British duo are bidding for a sixth doubles title at Flushing Meadows.
Sabalenka v Keys
The second of tonight's semi-finals will see Aryna Sabalenka, who on Monday will become the new world number one, up against Madison Keys.
It is proving quite the year for Sabalenka - and it could get even better this week.
The Belarusian is the first woman to make the semi-finals at all four Grand Slams in a calendar year since Serena Williams in 2016, and the 13th to do so in the Open Era.
Keys, the 2017 finalist, is through to her first semi-final in New York in five years and will hope to cause an upset in front of her home support.

The NYPD have arrived. Let's see what they do...
Lots of officers loitering around the guy who is holding firm.
Gauff 6-4 1-0 Muchova*
It's not a situation you tend to factor in when planning a late night following the tennis either.
How are you all holding up out there? Managing to power through this delay?
We've still got another semi-final to come after this don't forget. Now's the time to get that kettle on!
Gauff 6-4 1-0 Muchova*
The players are both currently waiting patiently for news of when they might be allowed to head back out on to the court.
Coco Gauff takes the opportunity to take on some fuel as she takes on some words of wisdom from her team.
What a bizarre situation. You can prepare all you like for a Grand Slam semi-final, but not something like this.
Gauff 6-4 1-0 Muchova*
I wonder what, if any, impact this stoppage might have on this match.
Coco Gauff is in charge on the scoreboard, having taken that first set and held serve at the start of the second.
But Karolina Muchova has had time to clear her head and will have the chance to make a fresh start when play eventually resumes.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have an announcement...
"There is a temporary stoppage as we try to resolve an issue in the crowd.
"We hope to start play shortly. Thank you for your patience."
Gauff 6-4 1-0 Muchova*
The announcement made inside Arthur Ashe Stadium doesn't tell us too much.
The TV cameras appeared to show one remaining protestor still in their seat after others had been evicted.
The hope is that play can restart "soon"...

Seconds after Muchova leaves, Gauff follows suit and also heads back inside.
The suggestion is the people who have halted play are climate change protestors and they've strapped themselves to the seats.
Gauff 6-4 1-0 Muchova*
This is all very frustrating for the players.
It's been over 10 minutes since play was stopped because a few individuals began chanting something high up in the stands.
There was confusion down on the court as to what exactly was going on, or how long the issue might take to sort.
It's been long enough for Gauff and Muchova, who face an extended wait to resume their semi-final.

Muchova has picked up her bags and is walking back to the locker room.
Umpire Alison Hughes is going to tell us what's happening...
Gauff 6-4 1-0 Muchova*
Coco Gauff asks her team whether she should head off court while this situation is resolved.
The initial response is to stay out there and work on her serve.
But Karolina Muchova has taken the decision to head off, and Gauff then decides to do the same.

While security suss out their options, Gauff practises serves and Muchova receives treatment.
Looks like two people have now been removed, leading to ironic cheers in that section of the upper tier.
Still a lot of mediating going on up there.

Well, herself, and these protestors...

Nobody knows what is going on.
The three people shouting are standing up and not moving - or being moved.
Other fans around the disruptors are not happy.
"Kick them out. Kick them out!" is the chant.
