    Lopez/Murray* 7-6 (8-6) 5-6 Salisbury/Ram

Ram's shot lands at Murray's feet and he can't pick it up. 0-30.

An exchange at the net ends when Ram's volley is too low, but then the American hits a perfectly-timed backhand return and that's three set points.

    Lopez/Murray* 7-6 (8-6) 5-6 Salisbury/Ram

So now it's Murray's turn to serve to stay in the set.

He hits a brilliant serve out wide but follows it up with a not-so-brilliant volley into the net. 0-15.

    Lopez/Murray* 7-6 (8-6) 5-6 Salisbury/Ram

Wow. An absolute rocket of a backhand return from Murray stops Ram holding to love, but he can't get to a low ball from the American. Ram holds.

But the Spaniard doesn't look it as he runs forward to smash the ball down at Ram's feet.

Murray looks just as athletic, diving to the right to pick up a volley.

Then on the next point he jumps left like a goalkeeper going for a save. Don't do that Andy! Your hip! It does work, though, to be fair...

Lopez must hold serve to stay in this set. He must be absolutely exhausted by now.

Salisbury does not seem at all intimidated by the fact that he's serving to a world number one.

A couple of aces and he holds his service game with ease.

    Lopez/Murray* 7-6 (8-6) 3-4 Salisbury/Ram

Murray sprints after Ram's angled volley. There's no way he's getting there but the fact he's going for those is heartening.

He hits an angled volley of his own, but it lands out. Deuce. A break opportunity for Ram and Salisbury.

    Lopez/Murray 7-6 (8-6) 3-3 Salisbury/Ram*

Murray goes for a lob but it lands out. It's at deuce which, under these rules, is both game point and break point for Ram.

    Lopez/Murray 7-6 (8-6) 3-3 Salisbury/Ram*

Murray throws his hands up in the air as a ball is thrown back onto court, meaning Ram gets a let and two more serves.

The Scot has a laugh in the end, though. Ram volleys to save the first break point.

There he is! A bit of vintage Murray comes out as he lands his return right in the corner to bring up three break points.

    Lopez/Murray 7-6 (8-6) 3-3 Salisbury/Ram*

Murray goes to lob Salisbury but he smashes the ball back. The Scot nips round behind a linesman to try and get on the end of it but it's no good.

He whacks a forehand at Ram on the next point and the American can't do anything with it. 15-30.

    Lopez/Murray 7-6 (8-6) 3-3 Salisbury/Ram*

Lopez hits a forehand straight at the floor to give Ram and Salisbury a look-in on his serve.

He looks to have redeemed himself with a quick serve, Salisbury challenges but it was on the line.

Ram can't return the next serve either and Lopez holds. Still on serve.

    *Lopez/Murray 7-6 (8-6) 2-3 Salisbury/Ram

Lopez is sitting down on this changeover, he's been stood up on previous ones so as not to seize up.

It's Murray who's up and jumping around. Could he be feeling it a bit after five months out?

    *Lopez/Murray 7-6 (8-6) 2-3 Salisbury/Ram

Salisbury cannot pick up a short backhand from Lopez, but the Spaniard's work is undone as Murray returns into the net.

Lopez can't get his next return over either and Murray apologises as he runs to steal a shot of Lopez and sends it long.

A straightforward hold for Salisbury in the end.
