There is an emotional tombola going on in that barrel chest of Stan Wawrinka.

The Swiss sees off set point with big inside-out forehand after a double fault put him deep in the sticky stuff.

He has survived this time. Can Evans get the gremlins biting once again?

Andy Murray rattles through the game to love. 

This is surely in the post. Both players know where we are heading. The only arguement now is for the scoreboard small change.

Death, taxes, the tide - Paolo Lorenzi just keeps coming at Andy Murray.

The Italian forces a break point, Murray knocks him back once more.

Murray is being kept honest right up the straight. 

Paolo Lorenzi is a player without any obvious weapons. No siege gun serve, no sledgehammer groundstrokes, not an especially silken touch at the net, but his all-round game is solid and his application is unstintingly excellent.

With only his second ace of the match, he buys a ticket back to his courtside seat.

With the clock ticking close to three hours, Andy Murray can finally sniff the finishline.

This will not be a match he looks back on fondly. Paolo Lorenzi has befuddled him with his energy and while Murray's own form has frustrated him.
