But for Newcastle, they have stuttered at the start of the season but had a good result in midweek and also got that good result against Brentford last weekend.

Sheffield United

Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom, speaking to Sky: "It's about looking at the bigger picture and getting to where we want to be. That's the goal, that's what we're working towards and hopefully the performances and the results will follow.

"We know it's a results business, we know we have to win and pick up points. Confidence comes from that but I think we have to look beyond that because we know it's going to be tough and that we're going to be playing against top teams every week.

"As of yet, we've not been totally satisfied with how we have played so we'll keep working towards that."

Sheffield United were really resilient for so long against Tottenham last week, just as they were against Manchester City earlier in the season, but again they were left with nothing to show for it.

Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom complained about the amount of time added on in the Spurs game, but it was poor defending that let his side down in the end - he can't blame the referee for that.

The onus is going to be on them to be more attacking-minded in this game, and it's going to be interesting to see how Newcastle cope after they played in the Champions League in midweek.

Eddie Howe's team got away with it a bit against AC Milan on Tuesday, because they didn't play well - but it was a great point for them in the end.

It wasn't just at the San Siro where Newcastle haven't clicked, they haven't really done that very often this season, but they are going to gel at some point.

They have got enough depth now to rotate their squad in midfield and attack, which is important, and I think they will get the job done at Bramall Lane one way or another.

"It's a big result for us obviously and going to 1-1 was a moment we had to reset and regroup and I think we did that.

"They're always going to have their moments it's just about us staying confident and keep playing our football. We knew their threats on the counter."

Pixie: Serious question: what’s more likely, Brighton to win the league or Chelsea to go down? A couple more games like this and they will both have to be taken seriously.

Rob: At this point, I'm disappointed Chelsea didn't go for Ange in the summer...

Nicholas: That was the best defensive display I've seen from a Spurs team in years. Extremely proud of the lads. In Ange we trust!

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham captain and goalscorer Son Heung-min to Sky Sports: "It's a derby, it's always a tough game. But the performance was fantastic from the lads until the last whistle.

"I think we gave everything so I think the fans can be proud of the game. Obviously we wanted to win, but I think the performance was perfect."

On Arsenal's second-half penalty: "Look the referee made a decision, we can't just argue about this decision. We have VAR in this situation.

"Obviously the derby is an emotional game. It's a decision we accepted and we bounced back really strongly. Coming back at the time was important. We showed great character and [James] Maddison showed great bravery."

Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom said: "A lot of Maddy’s friends work at this football club, she was a senior figure among the women’s and media team and everyone would see her about.

"It’s tough. We need to make sure everyone is OK at the club and we all support each other."

Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Sheffield United: "A good team, a direct team that will ask us questions physically. They have got good athleticism, can counter attack and are good at set pieces. They have got a lot of areas in their team that can hurt us if we're not right."

MDW: Chelsea clearly played well, but no joy in front of goal, two individual mistakes and then scrapping to make game out it. It’s becoming a trend now and will worry the fans.

Nathan: I'm sure Ange will get heaps of praise today, but if you look at how happy Spurs were with that point, that tells the real story of where Spurs are still.

Jimmy: As a Spurs fan, after listening to Arsenal fans bang on all week about how Ange ball would get found out now we play a proper team, this is very satisfying.
