    Ballymena United v Newry City

Ballymena and Newry City lock horns at the Showgrounds with both aiming to improve their positions in the bottom six.

Ballymena will look to further their excellent recent home league form – the Sky Blues have won their last three games on their own turf.

Manager David Jeffrey makes two changes from the side which started Saturday’s loss at Linfield. Jack Henderson and Mikey Place start with Josh Kelly and Ryan Waide dropping to the bench.

After a bright opening to their return to the top flight, Newry have hit a sticky period in recent times.

City are the only side in the Premiership not to have drawn a league game this season – even a point tonight would end a run of eight straight defeats on the pitch, although of course the border side were this week awarded a 3-0 victory after Portadown’s appeal against the ruling that they fielded an ineligible player against Newry was dismissed by the Irish FA.

Newry make two changes from their weekend defeat by Glentoran with Andrew Martin and Daniel Hughes preferred to Darren King and Matty Lusty.

Ballymena United: O’Neill, McGrory, Whiteside, Wilson, McCullough, Nelson, Henderson, Graham, Place, Gibson, McDaid.

Subs: Williamson, Redman, Kelly, Waide, Kane, McVarnock, Farquhar.

Newry City: Maguire, Moan, Martin, McGivern, N Healy, Scullion, Montgomery, Lockhart, Teelan, McGivern, Hughes.

Subs: Brady, Carville, B Healy, Donnelly, Rocks, Lusty, Sloan.

    Larne v Portadown

The sides meet at Inver Park for the first time this season after two Shamrock park encounters.

Third-placed Larne won on both occasions - 5-0 and 1-0 - and they will be hoping to get back to winning ways after Saturdays stalemate at home to Crusaders.

Bottom placed Portadown find themselves 12 points behind Dungannon Swifts and they will be desperate to start picking up points again.

Larne have won three of their last six league games while Portadown have chalked up just one victory from the same number.

It's been a disappointing week for the Ports with the IFA dismissing the appeal made by Portadown over a league win against Newry City involving an ineligible player.

Larne have made one change from the Crues draw with Shea Gordon coming in to replace Paul O'Neill.

Portadown have made three changes from their last fixture, a 4-1 defeat away to Coleraine. Lee Upton, Stephen Teggart and Reece Jordan drop to the bench and are replaced by Mark Russell, Patrick McNally and Joshua Archer.

Larne: Ferguson, Want, Sule, Bonis, Donnelly, Gordon, Bolger, Thomson, Millar, Glynn, Cosgrove (capt).

Subs: Pardington, Kelly, Watson, Hutchison, Hughes, Banda, Curran.

Portadown: Barr, Wilson, Russell, McKeown, Moorhouse, Chapman, McNally (capt), Archer, Rodgers, McCawl, McElroy.

Subs: Upton, Balde Almanzar, Stedman, Tegggart, Jordan, Friel, Igiehon.

    Coleraine v Carrick Rangers

Fifth-placed Coleraine host Carrick Rangers in ninth, hoping to keep pace with the leading pack in the Irish Premiership.

The Bannsiders came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Cliftonville at Solitude on Saturday, a result which saw them stretch their unbeaten league run to 10 games.

Perhaps not surprisingly then, manager Oran Kearney elects not to tamper too much with his starting XI this evening and the sole change for the home side sees Michael McCrudden replace Lee Lynch in attack.

Carrick Rangers, meanwhile, had the weekend off after their game at Portadown was postponed.

Their last game, ironically enough, also saw them stage a remarkable comeback against Cliftonville to draw 3-3 earlier this month and Stuart King has stuck with the same team.

January transfer window signing, and former Bannsider, Nedas Maciulaitis has to make do with a place on the bench following his switch from Championship high-flyers Loughall.

Coleraine: Gallagher, Kane, D. Jarvis, Brown, McKendry, McCrudden, Carson, O’Donnell (capt), Glackin, McDermott, Shevlin

Subs: McDowell, A. Jarvis, Fyfe, Farren, Lynch, O’Mahony, Scott

Carrick Rangers: Ross Glendinning, Forsythe, Surgenor, Ervin, Gordon, Cushley (capt), McGuckin, Cherry, Reece Glendinning, Tilney, Anderson.

Subs: Hogg, Kalla, Buchanan-Rolleston, Dupree, Waite, Maciulaitis, Andrews

    Glenavon v Cliftonville

League leaders Cliftonville look to extend their advantage at the top of the table as they visit Mourneview Park this evening to face an injury-stricken Glenavon.

For the Mid-Ulster side, tonight is an opportunity to close the gap on seventh-placed Ballymena United and return to winning ways after suffering defeats to Dungannon Swifts and Linfield.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last four league games, but will be disappointed that they have squandered two goal leads in each of their last two games, coming away with only a point against Carrick Rangers and Coleraine.

Gary Hamilton makes five changes from the side that lost 2-1 against Dungannon Swifts. Marc Matthews is handed a league debut alongside Conor Kerr, Aaron Rogers, Robbie Garrett and Jack Malone.

They are drafted in for Rory Brown, Calum Birney, Isaac Bird, Andrew Doyle and Conor McCloskey, who all miss out through injury.

Hamilton has named himself on the bench amidst the injury crisis at the age of 42.

Paddy McLaughlin makes two changes of his own with on-loan striker David Parkhouse handed his first start in place of Jamie McDonagh and Colin Coates replacing the injured Jonny Addis.

Glenavon: Matthews, Kerr, Snoddy, Fitzpatrick, Campbell, Pendergast, Wallace (c), Rogers, Garrett, Malone, Ward

Subs:Norton, Lynch, Doran, Harvey, Corr, Shearer, Hamilton

Cliftonville: Gartside, Ives (c), Gallagher, Rory Hale, Parkhouse, Ronan Hale, Moore, Turner, Coates, Lowe, Ronan Doherty

Subs: Gerard Doherty, Chris Curran, Ryan Curran, McDonagh, Robinson, Gormley, Casey
