New Leeds manager Javi Gracia says he "didn't have any doubt" about joining the club, despite their involvement in a relegation battle.

"I was waiting for something in the Premier League and it's something I'm excited for," Gracia said.

Gracia took Watford to the FA Cup final in 2019, before managing Valencia and Qatari club Al Sadd.

"When I finished at Watford, I didn't know if I'd have another experience in the Premier League. I had the chance in Spain then to Qatar with different experiences of life and working," he added.

"[This type of job] was what I was waiting for. When this experience appeared I didn't have any doubt."

Southampton seem to do things right with regard to behind the scenes and how the club is run.

This is a bit of a blip for me, they've messed up in the past six months with getting rid of Ralph Hasenhuttl. I think they should have kept him. He could have done good things going forward.

  3. 'Dyche has rejuvenated Everton'published at 14:34 GMT 25 February 2023

Everton v Aston Villa (15:00 GMT)

    Ashley Williams
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio 5 Live

Sean Dyche has rejuvenated Everton. It's so predictable but so effective. I expect Goodison to be bouncing today and I predict another 1-0 win coming.

This is a guy who knows the league and knows how to get points. He's got a squad with very good players and it will be interesting to see what Dyche can get out of them, I think it's one of the best he's worked with.

  4. 'Leicester so brittle at the back'published at 14:31 GMT 25 February 2023

    Leicester v Arsenal (15:00 GMT)

Leicester are in a relegation scrap, which is hard to understand when you consider the attacking talent they have got.

The Foxes' issue is that they are so brittle at the back, which is why I think there will be goals in this game and also why I am going to back Arsenal to win it.

I want to see a title race and I loved the way the Gunners found a way of getting the three points against Villa last week after trailing twice. They really showed their mettle and it must have been a huge boost to their confidence.

Now they have to back it up with another win here but I do feel their trip to King Power Stadium will be more straightforward. They will have plenty of chances, because their forwards will be able to get at the Foxes' backline.

    Prediction: 1-3

    Amazing stat...

Everton number 30, Conor Coady is named in the starting line-up on his 30th birthday.

The last player to appear in the Premier League on his birthday with the same shirt number as his age was Steve Mounie (age 24, shirt number 24) for Huddersfield Town against Tottenham Hotspur in a 2-0 home defeat on 29 September 2018.

  6. Can Leicester keep Saka at bay?published at 14:26 GMT 25 February 2023

    Leicester v Arsenal (15:00 GMT)

    John Bennett
BBC Final Score at King Power Stadium

The Arsenal fans have arrived here still on a high after that dramatic late win at Villa Park last Saturday.

As for the Leicester City fans I’ve been speaking to outside the ground, they aren’t quite sure what to expect on the four-year anniversary of Brendan Rodgers joining the club.

They thrashed Spurs in their last home game but there is very little confidence that Leicester’s leaky defence can keep Bukayo Saka and co. at bay. And they’re very disappointed that James Maddison is out!

  7. Head-to-head statspublished at 14:24 GMT 25 February 2023

Bournemouth v Man City (17:30 GMT)

Bournemouth have never beaten Manchester City in 17 previous league meetings (D2, L15).

It's the most one team has faced another without ever winning in English league history.

Manchester City have won all 11 of their Premier League fixtures against Bournemouth by an aggregate score of 34-5.

  8. 'Goals have been a massive issue'published at 14:21 GMT 25 February 2023

West Ham v Nottingham Forest (15:00 GMT)

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

This season it hasn't been the same for West Ham. I know they spent a lot of money in the summer on signings and I'm not sure how many of those were David Moyes' pick.

Goals have been a massive issue this season, they haven't been too bad defensively, but they've struggled to put it in the back of the net. All hasn't been well, they were expected to kick on this season and they just haven't managed to do it.

  9. Leeds are better than results suggestpublished at 14:19 GMT 25 February 2023

    Leeds v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

What a win and what a performance we saw from Saints under Ruben Selles against Chelsea last weekend, but it doesn't make calling this one any easier.

It feels like I have been saying the same thing about Leeds for a long time during their winless run, in that their biggest problem is their inconsistency when they are trying to see out matches.

But they haven't played well for a while now, and they have failed to score in four of their past five league matches, which is a big reason why they are struggling.

I still think Leeds are better than their results suggest but their players are just not producing at the moment.

They always get a raucous backing from the crowd at Elland Road but it doesn't seem to lift them the same way Everton can raise their game at Goodison Park.

Maybe Saturday is the day that changes. Yet again, I'm going with Leeds to win - but I'm not convinced that will happen.

    Prediction: 2-1

Former Wales captain BBC Radio 5 Live

Unless you're the invincibles you're always going to have setbacks. I think they've shown a capacity to overcome adversity.

Arteta is so driven and you can see that starting to come out now. Over the course of the season, if you're going to win the Premier League, you need to deal with the good and the bad.

They are showing they've got the credentials to get it done in the end.

Everton v Aston Villa (15:00 GMT)

This is the 210th staging of the most-played fixture in English league history. Aston Villa lead by 78 wins to Everton's 76, with 55 draws.

Villa can equal their longest league winning streak against Everton of four matches, achieved most recently between 1996-98.

Aston Villa are unbeaten in all seven Premier League meetings since returning to the top flight in 2019 (W5, D2).

  13. Solomon goal gives Fulham pointpublished at 14:10 GMT 25 February 2023

    FT: Fulham 1-1 Wolves

Substitute Manor Solomon scored for the third consecutive game as European hopefuls Fulham fought back to claim a hard-fought Premier League draw at home to struggling Wolves last night.

Solomon's superb curling effort into the right corner rescued a point for the hosts, who generally underwhelmed as they missed the opportunity to move level on points with fifth-placed Newcastle.

Until the Israel international's intervention, Wolves had looked on course to claim a valuable three points courtesy of Pablo Sarabia's sweeping first-half effort.

The Spain winger, who had earlier seen a weak attempt saved by home goalkeeper Bernd Leno, expertly turned in Raul Jimenez's knock down after twice linking with the Mexico international in the build up.

The result leaves the Cottagers sixth in the table on 39 points, while Wolves remain 15th, four points above the relegation zone.

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think Ruben Selles brings an energy that this Southampton side needs.

They are a very young squad and can be manipulated through positivity.

The one man that stands between them and relegation is James Ward-Prowse.

The Sean Dyche pattern is set, Everton are unchanged from the side that picked up a monumental victory over Leeds last time out.

It means there is still no Dominic Calvert-Lewin so Neal Maupay continues to lead the line having scored just once in his last 27 Premier League games.

Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman, Coady, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Iwobi, Doucoure, Onana, McNeil, Maupay.

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery makes three changes to the side beaten by league leaders Arsenal last Saturday.

Lucas Digne, Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey come into the side in place of Alex Moreno, Philippe Coutinho and Emiliano Buendia.

Aston Villa XI: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Mings, Digne, McGinn, Luiz, Kamara, Ramsey, Bailey, Watkins.

West Ham manager David Moyes makes four changes as his side search for a much-needed win.

Ben Johnson, Lucas Paqueta, Said Benrahma and Danny Ings all come in with Thilo Kehrer, Emerson, Flynn Downes and Michail Antonio making way.

West Ham XI: Fabianski; Johnson, Ogbonna, Aguerd, Coufal; Soucek, Rice, Paqueta; Benrahma, Bowen, Ings

Nottingham Forest make two alterations from the team who held Manchester City.

Neco Williams and Chris Wood return with Serge Aurier and Danilo dropping out.

Nottingham Forest XI: Navas; Williams, Worrall, Felipe, Lodi; Freuler, Shelvey, Colback; Gibbs-White; Wood, Johnson

  18. Team news - Aaronson starts for Leeds, Saints unchangedpublished at 14:00 GMT 25 February 2023

    Leeds v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Phil Dawkes
    BBC Sport at Elland Road

For his first game as Leeds boss, Javi Gracia makes one change to the Whites side beaten at Everton last weekend.

Midfielder Brenden Aaronson starts, with Crysencio Summerville dropping to the bench. It could well mean we see Aaronson and Harrison acting as wide midfielders, who look to impact the game in the middle of the pitch - a tactic Gracia used to good effect at Watford. Although the good people at Opta feel it's going to be 4-2-3-1, as you can see in the graphic below.

Max Wober, who went off with an injured shoulder at Goodison Park, is fit to start. Midfielder Marc Roca is on the bench.

Leeds XI: Meslier, Ayling, Firpo, Koch, Wober, Adams, McKennie, Harrison, Aaronson, Gnonto, Bamford.

Unsurprisingly, Southampton boss Ruben Selles names an unchanged team from the one that won at Chelsea last weekend.

Saints were hoping to have defender Mohammed Salisu available after he missed the win at Stamford Bridge, but he is not in the squad.

Che Adams remains out while midfielder Mislav Orcic is sidelined due to concussion protocol.

Southampton XI: Bazunu, Maitland-Niles, Bednarek, Bella-Kotchap, Perraud, Lavia, Ward-Prowse, Armstrong, Elyounoussi, Sulemana, Onuachu.
