  1. 'It's going to be some battle' - Reds boss McLaughlinpublished at 19:19 GMT 25 January 2022

    Cliftonville v Linfield

Cliftonville will hope to get back to winning ways on their home patch when they host leaders Linfield in Tuesday night's Premiership match at Solitude.

The Reds bounced back from defeats by Crusaders and Glentoran at Solitude with a win over Larne at Inver Park.

Paddy McLaughlin's third-placed side trail the Blues by five points.

"They're the top dogs in the division, have been for a while, but if we play like we did at Larne on Friday you never know," said McLaughlin.

"It's going to be some battle and they're an excellent side, hopefully the fact we played Friday night help us," added the Reds boss.

  4. Doolin named Portadown interim managerpublished at 19:08 GMT 25 January 2022

    Portadown v Crusaders

Former Portadown player Paul Doolin has been named the club's interim manager until the end of the season following Matthew Tipton's departure.

The Dubliner's two successful playing spells at Portadown included being part of the double winning side in 1990-91.

As a manager, Doolin guided Drogheda United to a first League of Ireland title in 2007 as well as FAI Cup and Setanta Cup triumphs.

He has also managed Cork City and Athlone Town as well as guiding the Republic of Ireland Under-19 team to the semi-finals of the European Championships in 2011.

Portadown chairman David Jameson said Doolin, 58, would bring a "wealth of experience" to the club as they attempt to hold on to their Irish Premiership place.

He will be at Shamrock Park tonight but will have to wait until Saturday before taking a seat in the dugout.

    Six big games in store

Tuesday night football under the lights - few things can beat it.

We have a stacked Irish Premiership schedule this evening with six tantalising games in store.

The main event is Cliftonville v Linfield. Third v first. Red v blue.

While many eyes will be on Solitude, across Belfast second-place Glentoran host Coleraine, who have often been a thorn in the Glens' side in recent seasons. It could be another thriller at the Oval.

In the middle of the pack, Dungannon Swifts hope to continue their recent revival against Mid-Ulster rivals Glenavon, while Carrick Rangers, who dropped below the Swifts on Saturday, take on Ballymena United.

At the bottom, Portadown will aim to put a rocky week behind them and bounce back at home to Crusaders, while basement side Warrenpoint Town take on the might of Larne.

Make sure you follow all the action here. You won't want to miss a thing!
