Tiernan Lynch makes three final changes.

Lee Lynch, Thomas Oluwa and Andrew Mitchell come on for Mark Randall, Ronan Hale and Fuad Sule.

A final roll of the dice.

  2. McDaid misses outpublished at 21:13 GMT 17 December 2021

    Glentoran 2-0 Glenavon

The hosts squander a decent chance to add a third as Robbie McDaid goes through the middle but the substitute's weak shot is easily saved by James Taylor.

Still no sign of a Glenavon comeback and time is not on their side.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:12 GMT 17 December 2021

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

Now Fuad Sule is booked at the other end for taking out Christy Manzinga as Linfield broke away.

This is a near identical chance for the Blues, and Watson is again involved as he clears the ball out for a corner.

  4. CLOSE!published at 21:11 GMT 17 December 2021

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

It's whipped in to the back post by Ben Doherty and Albert Watson is there to meet it, but Jimmy Callacher does just enough to put the big defender off and it's into the side netting.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:10 GMT 17 December 2021

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

Ahmed Salam is booked for body checking Tomas Cosgrove just outside the box. This is a good chance for the 10 men.

  6. Postpublished at 21:09 GMT 17 December 2021

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

Larne are struggling to get out of their own half here.

Trai Hume is the next to try his luck as he charges forward from right back, but Dean Jarvis gets in the way and his touch takes the sting out of the effort.

  7. Lurgan Blues lacking cutting edgepublished at 21:03 GMT 17 December 2021

    Glentoran 2-0 Glenavon

Nothing of note to report in what has been a scrappy start to the second half.

Glenavon are seeing plenty of the ball but they've yet to carve out a carve out a clear-cut opportunity.

Glentoran are the team carrying the greater threat in the final third and they are firmly on course for a sixth straight league win.

  8. Postpublished at 21:02 GMT 17 December 2021

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

We've played an hour at Inver Park and, as it stands, Linfield are going top.

Glentoran will be level on points with the Blues, but David Healy's men will be ahead thanks to their superior goal difference.

There's still a long way to go though!

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:57 GMT 17 December 2021

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

Trai Hume finds Manzinga down the right. It's a good ball in and Ahmed Salam sends a rocket of a volley towards goal.

Rohan Ferguson pulls off a great stop to keep it out, and Chris Shields' rebound is deflected over the top.

    Quote Message

Larne don't have to go gung-ho but they will have to take some risks. They can't afford to go 2-0 down or the game is over. They have pace, creativity and energy on the bench so they have options there.

David Healy will tell his team not to give Larne any opportunities, emphasise that they are a man up and tell them to keep possession. Larne may tweak their system. They will have given themselves some hope with some late chances so Tiernan Lynch may wait to bring another sub on. The half-time team talk is important for them to get settled.

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

That's all from the opening 45 minutes at Inver Park.

Larne are a goal and a man down - what on earth does Tiernan Lynch say at the break?

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:30 GMT 17 December 2021

    Glentoran 2-0 Glenavon

The hosts hold a deserved lead at the break with Conor McMenamin and Rory Donnelly on target while Jay Donnelly chipped in with two assists.

The second goal came as Glenavon finally got a foothold in the game and the visitors have yet to trouble keeper Aaron McCarey.

As it stands Glentoran will go second but they would go one better if Linfield relinquish their lead over 10-man Larne.
