    Glasgow City 0-0 Celtic

It's a game of few chances but it's being played at a good pace, with some meaty challenges in the middle of the park.

But neither side can get a string of passes together to build anything worthwhile.

    Quote Message

Glasgow City are not getting enough players into the box quick enough to get onto the crosses. But they're starting to compete for the 50-50 balls, which in the first five minutes Celtic were completely dominating.

  5. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Glasgow City 0-0 Celtic

A disappointing free-kick from Hayley Lauder drifts out of play.

City have settled down after Celtic's lively start, but as yet to test the teenage goalkeeper Rachael Johnstone.

  7. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Glasgow City 0-0 Celtic

It's slightly better from Glasgow City who get up the other end of the pitch.

A corner kick comes to nothing, but Hayley Lauder has a go from distance and her shot isn't too far over the top of the bar.

    Suzanne Lappin
Former Glasgow City midfielder on BBC Alba

    Quote Message

It's again quite casual defending from Glasgow City in their own box. They look all out of sorts so far. Celtic are treating it like it is, it's a cup final.

  9. Postpublished at 16:15 GMT 5 December 2021

    Glasgow City 0-0 Celtic

Celtic are on fire in the opening minutes.

Clarissa Larisey shrugs off Agita Filipa on the right hand side, Lee Alexander has to close the gap at the near post at the expense of a corner kick.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:13 GMT 5 December 2021

Less than one minute in and a massive save already.

The teams are on the pitch and it's almost time to get underway. Very decent looking crowd inside a cold Firhill.

  15. Both sides looking to end a long wait to lift SWPL Cuppublished at 16:06 GMT 5 December 2021

    Glasgow City v Celtic (16:10)

It is the first domestic cup final for two years, with both knockout cup competitions cancelled last season due to the season being shortened by the pandemic. November 2019 was the last time we had such an occasion, when Glasgow City beat Hibernian 4-3 in front of a crowd of 3,123 at Tynecastle.

A win for Scottish champions City would be their seventh success in this competition, and draw them level with Hibernian who have won the last four competitions. But despite their dominance of Scottish football, City haven't won this trophy since 2015.

Celtic are looking to win it for a second time. They won it in 2010, and since then have been in the final twice, but suffered chastening 4-1 and 9-0 defeats. Fran Alonso's side are a much tougher outfit these days though and this one could go either way.

    Glasgow City v Celtic (16:10)

The two sides have met once already this season.

Back in September, Glasgow City raced into a 2-0 lead through goals from Clare Shine and Lauren Davidson.

But Celtic pegged them back in the second half with Olivia Chance scoring twice.

  17. 'Cups are special'published at 15:59 GMT 5 December 2021

    Glasgow City v Celtic (16:10)

Glasgow City midfielder Hayley Lauder tells BBC Scotland: "We've not had the cups for a while, and the cups are special.

"We've got massive respect for Celtic and what they're doing. In the league game we were 2-0 up and it ended up being 2-2, and that shows you what Celtic are about. The way we've been preparing for this game shows that respect.

"The challenge every year when you're a City player, there's always people wanting you to fail and the challenge that Rangers, Celtic and Hibs have put up over the years are massive challenges, but we've overcome them so far and hopefully we can continue to do that."

  18. Today's goalkeeperspublished at 15:56 GMT 5 December 2021

    Glasgow City v Celtic (16:10)

Rachael Johnstone, at just 17, goes up against her role model and Scotland shot stopper Lee Alexander, 30, who has the gloves for Glasgow City.

  19. Two changes for Celticpublished at 15:52 GMT 5 December 2021

    Glasgow City v Celtic (16:10)

It's been a while since either side was in action due to the international break.

Celtic make two changes from their late 2-1 win over Aberdeen on 21 November, where they scored two goals in the last 10 minutes to take the points.

Winger Maria Gros drops to the bench with Sarah Harkes coming into midfield, and striker Clarissa Larisey gets the nod with defender Chloe Warrington out.

A big call perhaps for Celtic is that they start 17-year-old Rachael Johnstone in goal. She played in the semi-final win over Celtic and started their last league match, so manager Fran Alonso clearly rates her highly.

    Glasgow City v Celtic (16:10)
