Plenty of incredible goalscoring going on in the rest of Europe today too.

Cristiano Ronaldo responded to Lionel Messi's haul by marking his 1,000th senior appearance with a goal as Juventus beat SPAL, registering a record-equalling 11th consecutive Serie A goal in the process.

Meanwhile, Erling Braut Haaland scored his 12th goal in eight games as Borussia Dortmund beat Werder Bremen to remain in touch in the Bundesliga title race.

Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling called Real Madrid a "fantastic club" this week, but still insists he is "really happy" at the Etihad.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Real after City received a two-year ban from European competition, but earlier this week his manager Pep Guardiola insisted he had no problem with Sterling's comments.

"When you see the white shirt you know exactly what the club stands for, it's massive," Sterling told Spanish newspaper AS.

"But at the same time, I have a contract with City now and I have to respect this. But it's a fantastic club."

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

Levante look to keep possession as the half-time whistle approaches.

They've weathered a spell of fairly intense Real pressure there without too many issues.

A late Real opener would be a big blow.

  8. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

Luka Modric again tries his luck from range, this time keeping his shot on target, but Aitor Fernandez gets two strong hands behind it to push it to safety.

  9. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

    Blimey, that was brave!

Levante left-back Tono decides to chest a Real Madrid cross back to his goalkeeper but almost catches Aitor Fernadez completely off-guard as the Levante keeper scrambles to keep the ball from bouncing into the goal.

    Risky stuff.

  10. CLOSE!published at 35 mins

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

Its been a frustrating game for Eden Hazard so far and the Real winger concedes a free-kick as he chases a loose pass.

Real build again from the back, though, and a long ball over the top finds Isco but despite a lovely first touch the Spaniard can't find the target under pressure.

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

Luka Modric isn't happy as his calls for a corner are dismissed.

The Croatia international hits a swerving shot from outside the area which travels over the bar, and with all the ball's mid-air movement it's difficult to tell if it did take a deflection or simply had a mind of its own.

No shot on target yet for Levante, but at the other end they're effectively frustrating Real.

Thibaut Courtois is alert to gather a throughball with Borja Mayoral sensing an opportunity.

  14. CLOSE!published at 22 mins

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

Brilliant play from Jose Campana to take a few white shirts out of the picture and deliver a great cross into the six-yard-box.

Raphael Varane is alert to the danger and hooks it clear just before it can reach Borja Mayoral who looked destined to score.

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

There's plenty of noise inside the stadium after Levante's promising start, but Real are beginning to move up through the gears now.

Still, Levante look a constant threat on the break.

    It's nicely poised.

  17. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

    Casemiro should score!

Levante keeper Aitor Fernandez makes a complete mess of a corner as he fails to properly connect with a punch.

Instead, it drops to Casemiro who is able to head the ball over the goalkeeper but sends his shot wide.

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

Levante break and all of a sudden Real Madrid look rather stretched!

Jose Morales drives forward and crosses towards Borja Mayoral, but there's just too much on the delivery for the Levante striker to gather and Real survive a scare.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 11 mins

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

It's been a rather busy spell for Aitor Fernandez, who first denies Karim Benzema at close-range before recovering to block again from Isco.

Isco really should have done better with that opportunity.

    Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

Last weekend's 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo ended a five game winning streak for Real in La Liga, much to Barcelona's delight.

They do of course face Manchester City in a mouthwatering Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday, before hosting Barcelona next weekend.

They continue to search for the perfect start to a huge week, but Eden Hazard's weak shot from range is unable to trouble Aitor Fernandez.
