The game is starting to warm up. Everton are knocking the ball around nicely but the Fulham defence is holding firm. At the other end, Aleksandar Mitrovic is proving to be a nuisance to the Toffees backline.

Great block Tim Ream! Lucas Digne's cross is only cleared as far as Andre Gomes, but the Fulham defender throws himself in front of the midfielder's shot.

Moments later, Bernard goes on a run and fires in a shot straight at Sergio Rico.

Everton warming to their task.

Richarlison wins a free-kick for Everton over on the right touchline. Gylfi Sigurdsson, usually so effective from set-pieces, curls the ball in but he can't beat the first man and Fulham clear.

Those two Aleksandar Mitrovic efforts aside, it has been a fairly sedate start at Craven Cottage. Definitely an 'end-of-season' feel about the game - so far.

First sniff of a chance for Everton as Andre Gomes whips in a dangerous cross from the right that has to be cleared for a corner by Timothy Fosu-Mensah. Lucas Digne takes but Tim Ream heads away.

There's a relaxed atmosphere in the spring sunshine at Craven Cottage. With their fate sealed the pressure is off Fulham so it seems their fans are just looking to enjoy the remainder of the season.

Aleksandar Mitrovic looks in the mood. He lets fly from 20 yards but his low effort is comfortably saved by Jordan Pickford.

Jordan Pickford is smiling but he got away with one there - the Toffees goalkeeper's clearance cannoned straight into teammate Phil Jagielka. Luckily for Pickford the ball bounced back into his path and he could clear.

Fulham get the game started!

Everton certainly have the edge in recent fixtures between these two sides. Fulham are currently on a club record 10-game winless league run against the Toffees, drawing two and losing eight. Everton are unbeaten in five of the last six visits to Fulham, having lost their first seven Premier League trips to Craven Cottage.

Everton's best run of results since the first weeks of 2017 has thrust them back into that pack of clubs hoping to finish seventh - which would secure a place in Europa League qualifying should Manchester City win the FA Cup.

Relegated Fulham are simply playing to avoid some grim landmarks. Firstly, having lost nine consecutive games, the Cottagers are only two defeats short of their longest sequence of losses, set in 1962.

Second, if Fulham were to lose their remaining five games, they would join Sunderland and Derby as joint-record holders of 29 defeats in a 38-game Premier League season (Huddersfield can also match this).

Third, if Fulham fail to keep any more clean sheets they will set a new Premier League record of just two shut-outs for a season.

So, plenty to play for - none of it good.

So Everton boss Marco Silva says his team should be playing in Europe every year. And if they want to achieve that, they need to pick up some more points today.

At the moment, Everton sit seven points behind Arsenal in fifth but are only one point below Leicester, who are in a potential European spot.

Wolves are aiming for the same thing and are level on points with Leicester so will gain an advantage with victory today.

In their first game since relegation was confirmed it might take more than the clappers here at Craven Cottage to lift the mood amongst the home fans, but news of Harvey Elliott being named on the bench has perked a few of them up. At 16 years and nine days old he’ll become the youngest player in Premier League history if he’s brought on today.

Fulham caretaker manager Scott Parker:"I'm not focusing on me. I just want to improve things. The most important thing for me is sending out a team where people can see organisation and belief, and hopefully that gets us some results.

"I'm in constant discussion with the owner about how we can improve things. I'm looking at the long-term future of the club, whether I'm the manager or not."
