    Quote Message

He's taken it well Sam Cosgrove. He gives Martin no chance of getting that one. But I feel a little bit for the visitors. How do you get out of the road of that one? It comes off the body first then his arm. It's a sore one for Queen of the South

  2. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 4-1 Queen of the Southpublished at 17:00 GMT 10 February 2019

    Sam Cosgrove (penalty)

It's surely all over now at Pittodrie, but it is a controversial penalty that hands the Dons their fourth goal.

Shay Logan's cross into the midriff of Andy Stirling comes off the midfielder's stomach and on to his elbow and referee Euan Anderson points to the spot.

Despite the visitors' protests, the decision stands and Sam Cosgrove slots the spot kick firmly into the corner for 16th goal of the season and fourth in two games.

You would imagine there's no way back for Queen of the South now. Niall McGinn comes on at half-time and turns the game completely, scores the goal and supplies the cross to Considine, which he heads in, then picks out Sam Cosgrove to give Aberdeen their third goal

What a substitution that was by Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes.

He brings on Niall McGinn and the winger scores one and sets up the Dons next two goals.

This time, he sends in an inswinging cross and big Sam Cosgrove heads down and into the net off the turf.

Hearts were professional, organised, dynamic in all areas of the pitch and it was very difficult for Auchinleck, but their second-half performance they can take great credit from. They did themselves proud, their village proud and everybody in the junior game

Aberdeen are back in front as Gary Mackay-Steven rolls a short corner into the path of Niall McGinn and the Northern Irishman, who opened the scoring, curls in a cross that is powered home via the head of Andrew Considine.

A comprehensive win for Craig Levein's side and they cruise into the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

Christophe Berra's header got them up and running, Demetri Mitchell netted the second and laid on the third, scored by Steven Maclean, before the break.

Aidan Keena's 86th-minute effort rounded off the win amid a slew of Hearts chances.

With Hearts down to 10 men for the final 12 minutes after Michael Smith's injury and Talbot and their raucous away support were denied a late consolation when Stephen Wilson was adjudged to have scored from an offside position.

But they can be proud of their team's endeavour and drive right to the end.

Wonderful composure from Keena. Chops one way, back to the other and smashes it - wonderful goal from the youngster. That will give him a lot of confidence. Levein could have left him at Dunfermline, but he brought him back because he has a part to play

Ikpeazu has played really well, he's been out a long time. He's frustrated he didn't get his goal, almost got it there. Replacing a 6'4 with another 6'4 in David Vanecek, doesn't get any easier for Talbot
