Andy McGrory gives the hosts the lead!

Andy Hall had half a chance at the other end just 30 seconds before but Ballymena get into the opposition box via Friel who does brilliantly to get to the byline and stand it up to the back post where James Knowles cushions it off to McGrory to apply the finish.

No celebration from the former Glenavon man.

    Ballymena United 0-0 Glenavon

For all that has been said about Glenavon's exciting attack so far this season, let's take a moment to acknowledge that Dylan King and Caolan Marron have quietly forged a brilliant partnership at the centre of defence.

The ever-lively Cathair Friel gives King something to think about early on but the defender gets a tackle in.

    Ballymena United 0-0 Glenavon

I'll not keep going on about the weather, I swear. But Glenavon are playing with the win in this first half, can they make it count?

The visitors with the early possession but no sights on goal for either team yet.

  6. Underway in the windpublished at 19:49 GMT 2 November 2018

    Ballymena United 0-0 Glenavon

Off we go in wet and windy Ballymena. It takes Mark Sykes less than a minute to nutmeg an opponent before getting fouled.

From the free kick, Andy Hall's delivery literally blows straight to Ross Glendinning. My goodness it's breezy.

    Ballymena United v Glenavon

David Jeffrey was unsurprisingly delighted with his side's 3-0 win over Crusaders last week so he keeps faith with the same team, the only change is the return of captain Jim Ervin who replaces Kofi Balmer.

Two changes for Glenavon as they welcome back a couple of their big guns, Andrew Mitchell and Rhys Marshall. Stephen Donnelly and Gary Muir drop to the bench.
