Everybody remembers West Brom's great escape of 2005.

I can't help wondering if Albion would have stayed up had they sacked Robson - but in those days sacking was a last resort, not a first port of call. The current incumbent, Alan Pardew, is skating on thin ice - and he knows it. The Baggies are going to need something similar to 2005 to stay up this season.

Meanwhile, Watford's Hornets bumble on to probable, but uninspiring, safety under Javi Gracia - their 10th manager in five and a half years. I wonder if Gracia has bothered unpacking his suitcase?"

Standby for Storm Pardew if West Brom lose at Watford later.

The Baggies have lost their past four league matches and sit seven points from safety at the bottom of the Premier League.

Another defeat and Pardew could find himself out in the cold after just 15 league games in charge.

"It's not a decision for me to make," he said when asked about the consequences of defeat at Watford.

"As a professional manager, it's a tough ask. There's no lack of fight from my front."

I watched Southampton at Burnley last week and it was like they didn’t want to score. I look at their team and I can't understand where they are. They don’t look like scoring goals.

Stoke have gone away from what they were - hard to beat. There’s a lot of work to be done. This is probably biggest game of the weekend.

The Coleraine v Glentoran, Linfield v Cliftonville and Ballymena v Larne Irish Cup quarter-finals are called off because freezing conditions.

A pitch inspection is to take place at Mourneview Park in Lurgan to determine if the match between Glenavon and Loughgall can go ahead.

Cardiff City's Championship game at Brentford on Saturday is the latest Welsh sporting fixture to fall victim to the weather.

The Brentford pitch failed a Friday pitch inspection.

That followed Cardiff Blues, Ospreys, Scarlets, Newport County and Wrexham weekend games being postponed.

Blues, Ospreys and Scarlets games against Benetton, Zebre and Leinster respectively were postponed due to wintry conditions and travel issues.

Saturday's Ebbsfleet United v Wrexham and Newport v Accrington Stanley football games are postponed.

The last team standing are Dover, who face Leyton Orient today. As it stands...

All seven of Saturday's Premier League games are set to go ahead despite adverse weather conditions in the UK.

But six games in the Championship, including those at Aston Villa and Wolves, have been postponed as have most matches in League One and League Two.

All Scottish league games have been called off, but - as it stands - the Scottish Cup quarter-finals are on.

Watford fans, whose team face West Brom, were asked to go to Vicarage Road from 08:30 GMT to help clear snow.

Supporters of Southend - who host Walsall in League One - and Carlisle - who face Grimsby in League Two - also helped clear their respective pitches.

Elsewhere, horse racing fixtures at Lingfield, Newcastle and Chelmsford all passed morning inspections and will go ahead.

There is no jump racing this weekend because of the weather.
