Sam Curran can look totally innocuous but he just gets wickets. Big ones too. He has bounced out Quinton de Kock with one of those well-aimed bouncers. De Kock gets a little tickle on it through to keeper and captain Jos Buttler.
De Kock had looked very good. England will be thrilled.

It's one slower followed by one quicker from England's IPL millionaire Sam Curran. Two runs comes from his first over.

Sam Curran replaces Archer at the other end. Archer's first spell back in international cricket is five overs, no wickets for 41 runs.
Oh that is absolutely munched by Quinton de Kock! Jofra Archer, into his fifth over on the bounce now, is cracked over the leg side. It's dropped by a security guard behind the advertising boards.
De Kock follows that with a textbook drive too. Archer looks frustrated. Something for him to think about at the end of the powerplay.
That was a timely wicket for England. South Africa were going well.
Rassie van der Dussen is the Proteas number three. He scored a sensational century against England on that sweltering day at Chester-le-Street last year and here starts by driving his second ball for four.
A good player.

Image source, Getty ImagesAnd Moeen Ali strikes! It comes with a big helping hand from Sam Curran who takes a fine diving catch at mid-on. South Africa captain Temba Bavuma had just struck one four and tried to go even bigger. He clunked it and Curran sprawled to give England their first wicket.
