Keeping David Clifford at bay is simply impossible. The Fossa man hauled 1-10 against Armagh last weekend and already has 1-4 this evening, 1-3 from play, but Niall Devlin’s block late in the half could give him confidence in the second period.

If Tyrone can limit Clifford in the next 35 minutes at least, it will give the Red Hands a chance but they will have to trim their wide count at the other end having struck seven in that first period.

Meanwhile, Malachy O’Rourke will be hoping his side can start to get more joy around the Kerry kickout. Shane Murphy is getting his restarts away too easily and the Kingdom have got possession from 13 of their 16 kickouts.

Cormac Quinn has been handed the unenviable task of marking David Clifford who now has 1-3 from four possessions.

That goal was just utter class into the top corner, there was nothing Niall Morgan could do.

The Tyrone response will be interesting here, they can't let this one slip away before half-time like Armagh did last week.
