    Donegal All-Ireland winner on GAA+

The red card was the main turning point in the game, there is no doubt about that. It ruined the game in a respect because we had a really good game first half. It was a masterclass in game management from Donegal, they were in control.

  3. 'There was huge intensity out there' - Langanpublished at 16:56 BST 23 May

    FT: Kerry 0-16 Donegal 2-20

Man-of-the-match Michael Langan speaking to GAA +: "There was huge intensity out there, a lot on the line especially after the last few games between us. Championship games are like that and we're happy to come down here and get the win and move onto the next game.

"It's been a tough couple of weeks missing the Down game, I was hurting and Donegal was hurting so there has been real fire in the belly coming into this game and I was happy to help the team."

    Kerry 0-16 Donegal 2-20

Tony Brosnan lands a two-pointer for Kerry.

This is not a result that anyone would have predicted as Donegal hammer Kerry, the All-Ireland champions on their own patch.

It's only the second time in 28 years that Kerry have lost a championship game here in Killarney.

Donegal advance to Round 2A and are potentially one win from a quarter-final spot, Kerry are one defeat from exiting the championship as they head for Round 2B.

The lesson from this game is that teams cannot afford to lose players to red cards, as despite Donegal's brilliance, Michael Burns sending off had a huge baring on the outcome.
