  1. 'Biggest cup game I'll ever play' - Rommens relishing derby clashpublished at 12:41 GMT 7 March

Rangers defender Tuur Rommens says Sunday's Old Firm derby Scottish Cup quarter-final is "the biggest cup game" he'll ever play in.

The city rivals faced off in the league last week as Celtic produced a second-half fightback to come from 2-0 down to draw 2-2.

But Rommens insists the Ibrox club can take a lot of positives from their performance.

"I think we played a good first half and it was a pity that we didn't do it in the second half," he said.

"It was a real disappointment but we analysed the whole game and I think in the first half we played a near perfect game. In the second half we did some things that weren't so good.

"We need to be positive. If you only look at the bad things it will not help on Sunday. If you look at the good things and want to improve things, that's the best thing to do."

The 22-year-old Belgian, a January signing from Westerlo, has impressed in his early Rangers outings.

Last weekend was his first taste of an Old Firm atmosphere and he insists it didn't disappoint.

"In Belgium there is only one Scottish game they broadcast and it's the Old Firm. I watched it a couple of times and it was impressive and it didn't disappoint on Sunday," he added.

"Rangers is a big club and the fans are very demanding. Everybody here is demanding. You want to win, everybody wants to win. There is a different kind of winner's mentality that you have to have here.

"It's a do-or-die game but every cup game is do or die. When you play Celtic it's a little bit different because of the rivalry.

"It's the biggest cup game I will ever play.

"When the fans are behind us it really gives us a boost. They did a great job at the weekend and I'm sure they will do on Sunday again. If we start the same way as we did last Sunday, and with the fans behind us, we can go for it."

  2. Rangers v Celtic: Commentator's notespublished at 10:32 GMT 7 March

    Liam McLeod
    BBC Sport Scotland Commentator

    Danny Rohl and Martin O'Neill
    • Sunday will be the 450th Old Firm meeting in league and major cups. Rangers have won 172, Celtic have won 171 and there have been 106 draws including last Sunday's 2-2 at Ibrox.

    • This is the 56th time the sides have met in the Scottish Cup - and the fifth in six seasons. Rangers have won 19, Celtic have won 27 and there have been nine draws.

    • This is the 12th time they have met in the Scottish Cup at Ibrox, Rangers winning five to Celtic's three, with three draws.

    • This is the first Old Firm derby in the Scottish Cup since the 2024 final which Celtic won 1-0 late on thanks to Adam Idah's goal.

    • The last meeting at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup was the fourth round in 2021 and Rangers won 2-0 thanks to goals from Steven Davis and a Jonjoe Kenny OG.

    • Celtic's last Scottish Cup win at Ibrox was in February 1957 when they won 2-0 - their only other victories in this tournament here came in 1907 and 1908.

    • Rangers last win over Celtic in this tournament was the semis in 2022 when a Carl Starfelt own goal proved decisive in a 2-1 win and took them into the final where they beat Hearts.

    • Despite a few recent successes, Rangers have only won five of the past 24 derbies - the Scottish Cup semi-final in 2022 and two 3-0 victories at Ibrox as well as their recent back-to-back wins at Celtic Park.

    • The team that scores first has only lost this fixture six times out of the past 48 meetings since they renewed acquaintance in the same league in 2016.

    • Celtic have gone five visits to Ibrox without a win (drawn four, lost one) since Kyogo Furuhashi scored the only goal of the game in September 2023.

  3. Key questions facing Rangers before derby quarter-finalpublished at 15:58 GMT 6 March

Will Sunday's cup quarter-final bring out the best in Andreas Skov Olsen?

Can they deliver a complete performance?

You could be forgiven for thinking you were watching two different Rangers teams in the first and second halves at Ibrox last Sunday against Celtic.

In a blistering opening 45 they scored two goals, including an outstanding bicycle kick from Youssef Chermiti, had seven shots (two on target), and created three big chances.

To put that into perspective, Celtic had just one shot, didn't create a single big chance and only had six touches in the Rangers box (the hosts had 21 in the Celtic box).

Speaking at his media conference on Friday looking ahead to this weekend's Old Firm quarter-final, Rangers head coach Danny Rohl said: "The first 50 minutes was really, really outstanding.

"I really enjoyed being on the touchline in such a game. I think the biggest challenge in this game was that we felt after 50 minutes we could celebrate the win.

"You felt this in the stadium, in the stands. Everyone was convinced there is just one winner in this game."

In the second half it was a different story. Celtic had almost 60% possession, played 244 passes compared to Rangers' 180 and attempted 16 shots (Rangers had five). Crucially, the visitors scored two goals to take a point back to Parkhead.

"Everyone who knows football and who is part of this football knows games can change quick and a 2-0 is always dangerous," Rohl added.

"We did some things we probably shouldn't do again. I take the responsibility for the first half and I also take the responsibility for the second half because this is my job."

A frustration among Rangers fans has been the team's tendency to only perform in fits and starts, leaving their title hopes in real jeopardy.

If Rohl - who admits a trophy is a must this season - wants a spot in the Scottish Cup semi-final, Rangers must avoid another Jeckyll and Hyde derby showing on Sunday.

Is this the stage for Andreas Skov Olsen?

The Denmark winger arrived on loan from Wolfsburg in January with a big reputation.

Rangers hold an option to buy for a reported fee of £8.6m but Skov Olsen has struggled to set the heather alight in his first few months.

He's scored one goal in six games and set up a further two while creating 12 chances, including three big chances.

Rohl insists the 26-year-old shouldn't be written off, saying: "We know, and we saw in moments, which parts he can help us with, especially in the final third.

"I think he is also very tactical, intelligent. There is still more to come and this is what we are trying to bring out of him as soon as possible."

Plenty of doubters remain though. Having provided the cross for Chermiti's incredible opener last Sunday before fading along with the rest of his team, Skov Olsen do could with turning it on when Celtic visit again.

    Will the defence hold firm?

Rangers have conceded 25 league goals all season - 16 since Rohl took charge in October - but six of those have come in their past three games, including two against bottom club Livingston.

Defensively, they've lost 202 tackles - the most of any Scottish Premiership side - and have blocked the second fewest number of crosses (34).

Rangers have made four errors leading to league goals but have conceded the third fewest goals in the division.

"I think we conceded too much at the moment," Rohl said.

"I think we conceded 16 all in in the league since I've been here. And in the last five games, eight. This is too much and this is also part of what we have to improve."

Rangers will need to shore up their defence if they want to keep Celtic out on Sunday.

Rangers head coach Danny Rohl has been speaking to the media as his side prepare to host Celtic in the Scottish Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

    Here are the main points:

    • After squandering a two-goal lead in last weekend's league draw with Celtic, Rohl insists "it's our job" to improve on that performance". He says: "We spoke about the good things and what we have to improve, we go with belief, we go with trust."

    • Rohl says having 7,500 Celtic fans at Ibrox will "have an impact" but stresses "if we play the 50 minutes like we did, they will be quiet", adding "the atmosphere was incredible" for the first half last weekend.

    • Rohl was pleased with his side's first-half superiority last week - "I don't know when the last time Rangers dominated Celtic like this for 50 minutes was" - and is focused on maintaining that level of performance for the entire game on Sunday.

    • He admits game management and tactical aspects let Rangers down, saying: "After 50 minutes we felt we could celebrate the win, it felt like there was only one winner." Rohl takes "the responsibility" for the drop-off in the second half but also the good things in the first.

    • The head coach insists Rangers' belief has not been dented and "we are still in a race" for the title despite sitting six points adrift of leaders Hearts.

    • Rohl says "it's not an excuse that we came from 13 points behind" but feels "the last two results [draws against Livingston and Celtic] were unnecessary when you compare the results with the performance".

    • The German admits Rangers are conceding too many goals: "Sixteen in the league since I arrived and eight in the last five games - this is too much and also part of what we have to improve."

    • He adds that with nine games to go "it's not the time to give gifts".

    • Rohl says Rangers "have to" win a trophy this season and adds: "My own pressure is always high because I want to be successful. I want to win something. I want to bring the club forward. I want to win titles. There are still two good options, two good opportunities to do something."

    • Rohl insists he's "not thinking" at the moment about taking up the option to buy Andreas Skov Olsen but feels "we've seen in moments which parts he can help us, he's very tactically intelligent. There's still more [to come] from him and we want to bring it out of him as soon as possible."

    • Rohl says there's been a "full house" in training this week and "everyone is nearly back". There has been a small issue with Mikey Moore but he should be fine for the weekend while Connor Barron could return.

Rangers lift the Scottish in 2022 after extra-time win over Hearts

Rangers 3-2 Celtic (4 May 2002) - Scottish Cup final

As Martin O'Neill prepares to head to Ibrox for Sunday's Scottish Cup quarter-final, he may be haunted by memories of this one.

Rangers claimed a dramatic derby victory to lift the cup for the third time in four seasons.

John Hartson put Celtic in front in the first half but Peter Lovenkrands levelled for Rangers just two minutes later.

Celtic regained the lead after the break courtesy of Bobo Balde but Barry Ferguson equalised and Lovenkrands stepped up in the 90th minute to score the winner and take the trophy back to Ibrox.

This would turn out to be the last Old Firm Scottish Cup final for 22 years.

Queen of the South 2-3 Rangers (24 May 2008) - Scottish Cup final

By 2008 it had been five years since Rangers last contested - or won - a Scottish Cup final.

Having missed out on the league title and lost the Uefa Cup final, Walter Smith's side looked to be cruising to success at Hampden as goals from Kris Boyd and DaMarcus Beasley put them two goals to the good before the break.

But Queens threatened a seismic shock as quick goals Steven Tosh and James Thomson hauled the second-tier side level - only for Boyd to head the winner with 20 minutes to play.

Rangers 2-0 Hearts (aet, 21 May 2022) - Scottish Cup final

This was the last time Rangers lifted the Scottish Cup.

Since then they've made it to one final, in 2024, but have also been knocked out in the quarter-finals and suffered that infamous fifth-round exit to Queen's Park last season.

The 2022 triumph was also Rangers' first Scottish Cup win since 2009. Off the back of their Europa League final defeat, which had gone to extra time and penalties, Rangers had to play another 120 minutes but this time got their rewards.

Substitutes Ryan Jack and Scott Wright scored within three minutes of one another in the first half of extra time and that would prove to be enough for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side.

  8. Can Rangers handle 'seething mass of anxiety'?published at 11:37 GMT 5 March

General view of IbroxImage source, SNS

Can Ibrox be more of hindrance than a help for Rangers?

Danny Rohl's side host Glasgow rivals Celtic on Sunday in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals with the disappointment of last weekend's Old Firm derby fresh in their minds.

Ibrox was bouncing as Rangers raced 2-0 up on thanks to Youssef Chermiti's double that included a stunning overhead kick opener.

But the home fans' mood soured as a second-half capitulation allowed Celtic snatch a draw thanks to goals from Kieran Tierney and Reo Hatate's penalty rebound.

"It's not just the noise inside the head," Herald football writer Stephen McGowan told the BBC's Scottish Football Podcast.

"It's the noise inside the stadium as well. It begins to feel like a home handicap as soon as things go against them slightly.

"You can't blame paying fans for being nervous, but it does become a seething mass of anxiety. You do feel maybe sometimes does begin to seep on to the pitch as well."

Former Rangers striker Rory Loy suggests anxiety could return to the Ibrox crowd in light of recent results.

Following Sunday's draw in Govan, Celtic beat Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Wednesday night to leapfrog Rangers and move second in the Premiership.

"Look at the second half on Sunday, Tuur Rommens comes in at the back post and misses a chance and the stadium is still up on their feet singing," Loy said.

"Then the game just swung. It doesn't help when Celtic pull them back to 2-1. The midfield were just non-existent, they couldn't keep the ball and that feeds into the nervous energy from the crowd.

"On Sunday they need to start like a house on fire, they need to start like that again.

"The problem they've got on Sunday is if they'd won the game last week, the fans would put up with maybe a bit of a slower start, just to get through the cup tie.

"Given the nature of the way the game went, given there will be more away fans in, given the nature of Celtic's result last night and Celtic now being above them, it's all feeding into [that nervousness].

"If Rangers don't start well on Sunday, they'll know about it very, very quickly."

  9. Do Rangers have the mentality to be champions?published at 14:59 GMT 4 March

    Alasdair Lamont
    BBC Sport Scotland Commentator

    Behind the mic

I suspect Rangers might now have given themselves too much to do in terms of winning the title.

They may yet prove me wrong, but with post-split trips to Tynecastle and Celtic Park, it's difficult to see them gaining sufficient points in the remaining nine games to overhaul Hearts.

Sunday's derby against Celtic was another case of points dropped when really they should have been able to see out the victory, as champions do.

Rangers will look back at Emmanuel Fernandez's big chance before half-time to make it 3-0 as perhaps the pivotal moment.

There was so much to like about their first-half display, not least Youssef Chermiti's two fabulous goals. The overhead kick to open the scoring was sensational and he has shown himself to be capable of moments of stunning quality. If he can provide them more consistently then that £8m price tag will eventually look a snip.

There have been a lot of questions about this Rangers side's mentality again in the wake of letting the two-goal lead slip and you have to say those questions are fair.

The main gripe I have heard from Rangers fans is Danny Rohl went too defensive too soon rather than trying to kill the game off straight after half-time.

They certainly didn't do so in terms of the team's shape or personnel, but maybe the mindset changed to trying to protect what they had rather than build on it.

Either way, it is another example of Rangers being unable to sustain a good performance for 90 minutes and that is not something that has just developed under Rohl. I remember writing exactly the same when Phillipe Clement was in charge.

If they can somehow win the title, all these questions about mentality will have been answered, so let's see how that pans out. For the moment, all attention turns to the rematch in the Scottish Cup this Sunday.

Before that, Celtic are at Pittodrie in the league and if they can win that, I feel like that will give them the psychological edge coming to Ibrox, given the way they played in the second half and the manner in which the game finished.

But ultimately you never quite know what you're going to get with these two sides, especially not in this, the strangest of seasons.

  10. 'Effective' or 'waste of money'? - fans on Skov Olsenpublished at 10:37 GMT 4 March

    Your views
    Andreas Skov OlsenImage source, SNS

We asked for your views on Andreas Skov Olsen's early Rangers performances following the Denmark winger's loan move from Wolfsburg.

Here's what some of you said:

David: Disappointing is a one word summary for Skov Olsen since he joined us. Just does not look like a top player I'm afraid. The fact Wolfsburg are looking to move him on in the first year of a four-year contract tells its own story. We'd be crazy to take up the reported £10m signing option. Return to sender.

David: Not cut out to wear the jersey. That fee to land him on a permanent deal is laughable.

Stewart: I honestly think as a player he is very skilful and aware, he will undoubtedly be an exceptional player for Rangers as soon as he gets to grip with the Scottish game.

Ross: It is too early to tell and anyone who says otherwise must be watching a different season. Sure, he hasn't exactly had the impact of, for example, Djeidi Gassama when he first came in, but anything can happen for Skov between now and the end of the season. I'm hoping he does well, we need everyone firing on all cylinders if we really want this title.

Ian: Slov Olson has been poor since his arrival. He does not have the speed or trickery to beat a man, his workrate off the ball is poor. So far not convinced he is any better than we have.

Galloway: Absolute waste of money. Gassama and Oliver Antman are far better options.

Ronnie: Olsen has been effective without being outstanding. Much of the criticism surrounding him can be credited to the high expectations when he arrived which was built on the media hype. He has shown in the six games he has played there is a quality player there. I think we reserve judgement until the season ends. We may well be demanding that Rangers sign him on permanent contract.

  11. How would you judge Skov Olsen's start to life at Rangers?published at 16:07 GMT 3 March

    Nick McPheat
    BBC Sport Scotland

Andreas Skov Olsen stats graphicImage source, SNS

After a winter transfer window expected to raise Rangers to the next level, Andreas Skov Olsen was viewed as the marquee acquisition.

Signing on loan from Wolfsburg - where he has struggled for minutes and form - the winger has moved to Scotland in the hope of recapturing his best.

The 26-year-old scored 49 goals and provided 30 assists in 124 games for Club Brugge before his move to Germany and has eight goals and 10 assists in 40 Denmark caps - numbers that highlight his top level.

On the face of it, a goal and two assists in just five Scottish Premiership starts for Rangers is a good return for any wide man, never mind one who is still attempting to work his way back to full match sharpness at a new club.

However, some Rangers fans have been underwhelmed by the Dane's introduction.

Olsen struggled to make a real impact in his first two starts - a win at home to Dundee and goalless draw at Hibernian - and was hooked at half-time at Livingston with the league's bottom side a goal up.

In starts against title rivals Hearts and Celtic, though, the winger has registered assists in each of those games, setting up Youssef Chermiti on both occasions.

But what does the underlying data tell us?

The sample size is small, given Olsen has only played just 352 minutes, but he is averaging more assists per 90 minutes than any of his team-mates.

His per-90 average of three for chances created is also higher than any other Rangers player.

However, Olsen ranks outside the top 10 for dribbles attempted and completed, while he is 16th for shots and has managed just three shots on target in total.

Those numbers perhaps suggest Rangers have got themselves more of a creator, rather than a modern wide forward who will rack up goals.

With Danny Rohl, whose side have suffered from a lack of open-play creativity, seemingly content to deploy two centre forwards, that could prove beneficial for the run-in.

Rangers fans, how would you judge Olsen's start to life in Scotland? Send us your thoughts.

  12. Robertson the referee for Old Firm derby in quarter-finalpublished at 13:03 GMT 3 March

    Don RobertsonImage source, SNS

Don Robertson has been confirmed as the referee for Sunday's Scottish Cup quarter-final when Rangers host Celtic for the second time in a week.

Robertson will be assisted by Ross Macleod and David Roome. Andrew Dallas takes charge of VAR duties, assisted by Matthew MacDermid.

The Old Firm rivals meet for a place in the cup semi-finals after a thrilling 2-2 Premiership draw last Sunday where Celtic hit back from a two-goal half-time deficit for a point.

Robertson last took charge of an Old Firm derby in August when the sides met for the first time this season, drawing 0-0 at Ibrox.

    Jamie Currie
    Fan writer

    Fan's voice

    This content isn't available anymore.

    There was an error

The derby was a must-win. Yet despite cruising at 2-0, in typical Rangers fashion we couldn't see it over the line.

In the first half we were excellent. It's everything you want to see; the high press, the winning of second balls, and physically dominating Celtic all over the pitch. The two goals from Youssef Chermiti put the icing on the cake.

In the second half we did what we always do, sit back and become reactive rather than proactive.

The subs just didn't help either. Taking off a striker, Ryan Naderi, helped Celtic's build-up because they could get out much easier into midfield.

Reo Hatate was allowed to run the second half because of how deep we were. Whether that's on the players, the manager or both is irrelevant.

And the penalty, if it was up the other end I'd be screaming for it in all honesty. However, I'm more annoyed that no Rangers player was alive to the rebounds after Butland's two saves.

Yet again it's another opportunity missed when in a good position. Much like the draw at Motherwell, you cannot throw points away like that.

The Scottish Cup quarter-final will be interesting to see how things change, but I'd assume by the time Thursday morning comes we'll be playing catch-up on Celtic and Hearts.

What a ridiculous position we have put ourselves in. And given how we've seen Rangers teams completely collapse before, it's hard to see anything other than that coming again, sadly.

Maybe that's just the hangover of disappointment but that's how I feel. Only Rangers can prove me wrong.

  15. Does Chermiti need partner to thrive at Rangers?published at 14:52 GMT 2 March

    Youssef ChermitiImage source, SNS

Do Youssef Chermiti's chances of being a success at Rangers rely on the striker playing in a front two?

Former Ibrox midfielder Andy Halliday feels that could be the formula to get the best out of the big-money summer signing from Everton.

Despite netting a clinical double against Celtic for the second time this season in Sunday's Old Firm draw, including a stunning overhead kick, Halliday feels criticism about a lack of goals is fair.

Chermiti has shown up in the big games, scoring eight times against Celtic and Hearts, but he has just nine goals in 31 games across all competitions.

The 21-year-old's recent impressive showings against Rangers' title rivals have come with the striker playing alongside winter recruit Ryan Naderi.

"I think that's now the fourth game Rangers have played with two strikers," Halliday said on the BBC's Scottish Football Podcast.

    Media caption,

Watch every angle of Chermiti's incredible overhead kick against Celtic

"Chermiti's scored a hat-trick against Hearts and a double against Celtic, so I just feel like that burden is taken off him with a striker playing alongside him.

"He doesn't have to do so much running outside the box, so much link-up play outside the box and running channels.

"He can be a bit more of a predatory striker that's in the box and try to get on the end of things. And I think at this moment in time it looks like it's suited him a lot better."

Former Hearts man and current Motherwell midfielder Halliday added: "In terms of attributes, I think he's got pretty much everything. The one thing you could probably criticise him for, though, is obviously his lack of goals.

"There's been a lot of occasions in games that I don't think he's looked like scoring. I don't think he's been on the end of cross balls enough or had enough shots on goal."

  16. Who made BBC's Premiership team of the week?published at 14:50 GMT 2 March

    Team of the Week graphic

A trio of Motherwell stars, duos from Hearts and Falkirk, and one each from Rangers, Celtic, Hibs and Dundee.

Jonathan Sutherland has picked his team of the week, so let's take a look and see who impressed...

    Calum Ward - Motherwell

A key part of the Motherwell success story at the back. Yet another clean sheet.

    Harry Milne - Hearts

Mr Versatile and Mr Reliable all rolled into one. Another team of the week appearance for Milne. Taking the liberty of forcing this auxiliary dynamo into right-back here.

    Luke Graham - Dundee

A goal and an assist from the highly promising Dundee defender. His finish for the Dark Blues was like that of a striker.

    Kieran Tierney - Celtic

Huge goal at a huge time in the Old Firm Derby. The Scotland international has quietly been a big player for Celtic over the past few weeks and will no doubt be a big leader for this side in the finale of this incredible season.

    Nicky Cadden - Hibernian

There is almost laser precision to his deliveries from the left-hand side. His assist for Owen Elding's header was a perfect example, knowing exactly where to put the ball to elude the defence and allow the striker the best chance to finish.

    Elliott Watt - Motherwell

The Motherwell orchestrator has been a key part of the Fir Park ensemble, which continues to hit all the right notes.

The ominous thing for Hearts, Rangers and Celtic is there appears to be no reason why Motherwell cannot keep on winning.

Watt is a central cog in that winning machine. An assist for Tawanda Maswanhise's second.

    Dylan Tait - Falkirk

Two goals and so much to enjoy from the Falkirk midfielder. Part of a group completely in sync with each other, and loving life under John McGlynn in the top flight.

    Claudio Braga - Hearts

Has led from the front in the absence of Lawrence Shankland and always seems to be in the right place at the right time.

The personification of Hearts this season, plucked by analytics from the relative obscurity of the Norwegian second division to spearheading a title charge threatening to destroy 40 years of Old Firm dominance.

    Barney Stewart - Falkirk

Another barnstorming weekend for young Barney Stewart. The Grangemouth Harry Kane was on fire against Kilmarnock and was unlucky not to claim another hat-trick.

The story of the university lad now playing Premiership football has been well told, but it's now moved on to just how quickly he has developed into one of the most exciting strikers in the league.

The only thing missing from the McGlynn Falkirk success story was a goal-getting number nine. They have certainly found him.

    Youssef Chermiti - Rangers

Talk about a big game player.

Looks decidedly pedestrian at times in more run-of-the-mill fixtures, but when it slams to the big matches against the big teams the 21-year-old has been the man to deliver. And in spectacular style.

His first goal was Scott McTominay-esque, an iconic Old Firm moment. His second was pure gallus opportunism full of ingenuity and initiative.

    Tawanda Maswanhise - Motherwell

Another two goals for the jewel in the crown of the Motherwell story. The top scorer in the Premiership, if Maswanhise can stay fit and keep this form going the Steelmen really do have a shot at glory.

Their combination of goals and clean sheets is quite incredible. What an extra dimension Motherwell and Maswanhise have brought to this quite sensational season.

  17. Fans question Rangers mentality after derby collapsepublished at 10:02 GMT 2 March

    your views graphic

We asked for your views on Rangers' 2-2 draw against Celtic.

Here's what some of you said:

Iain: Any team aspiring to win a league can't afford 12 draws in 29 games played - too many points lost so far. This team don't seem to have the mentality or ability to see out wins as was proved again today.

Alexander: That was a disgraceful second half from Rangers, they were fortunate to draw from a position of total dominance to also-rans - unacceptable. The game lasts 'til the final whistle not half-time, they let themselves, the manager and the fans down in a terrible second half."

Simon: Let's learn the lessons and go again. High intensity and concentration needed for 96 not 50 minutes. In future let's help Jack Butland - after his two heroic penalty saves we needed defenders hungry to beat their strikers to the goalmouth.

Peter: Having just witnessed yet another game where Rangers have thrown away more points. Now eight dropped from their last six games. I can honestly say the title now belongs to Hearts. They will be playing three teams from the bottom four of the league before the split. So clearly, they are well ahead and in the driving seat.

Lex: Two wins in six league matches is abysmal. This is still the same Rangers team that lost 9-1 against Club Brugge. Any improvement is superficial and illusory. Danny Rohl certainly isn't a tactical genius.

Gary: Another farcical VAR decision going against Rangers in another Old Firm game. What is Dujon Sterling supposed to do when the ball is headed on to his hand at pace, from a foot away? The handball rule needs reviewed. It's not a free-kick anywhere else so why a penalty?
