Bristol City academy prospects Taine Anderson and Raphael Araoye have agreed new contracts with the club.

Both players have yet to make their first-team debut for the Robins.

Left-back Anderson, 19, has signed a three-year extension on his deal, having already agreed to spend next season on loan at League Two side Cheltenham Town.

Centre-back Raphael Araoye (pictured), 20, has agreed a one-year deal.

Araoye, who has been at the club since the age of 11, played five games for Yeovil last season during a loan spell in the National League.

Olly Thomas has signed a new one-year contract at Bristol City.

The 20-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance for the Robins but has been given a one-year deal following the end of his academy contract.

The Bristol-born forward first signed professional terms at the club in March 2023 and has spent time on loan at Bath City, Yeovil Town and Newport County.

Technical director Brian Tinnion told the club website, external: "We're really pleased that Olly will be with us for another year.

"He is a talented player and this extension reflects the hard work he's put in over the past year."

Bristol City are actively looking for new recruits but are not under pressure to bring in new faces, according to boss Gerhard Struber.

The Robins have signed goalkeeper Joe Lumley from Southampton, Adam Randell from Plymouth and Preston forward Emil Riis Jakobsen.

"We are open with our eyes and ears in the market but we don't feel we are under stress, and we are looking for the right one," Struber told BBC Radio Bristol.

"When we find the right one then something could happen - we are ready for this step but are not under pressure."

City are being linked with a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek, with Max O'Leary set to be sidelined for up to four months following ankle surgery.

"We know we have a player out and Max was a key last season and if we have to do something we will see what's going on in the next few days," added Struber

Midfielder Marcus McGuane left Ashton Gate to join Huddersfield Town last week but Struber would not be drawn on whether more players could head for the exit before the transfer window closes on 1 September.

He said: "We are not planning for any players here to do something - I am very happy with the roster but at the same time I would say we are always open."

Bristol City kick-off the new Championship campaign at Sheffield United on 9 August (17:30 BST) in a rematch of their play-off semi-final last season.

Bristol City defender Cameron Pring is expected to be out for 12 weeks after picking up an ankle ligament injury during the side's training camp in Portugal.

The 27-year-old left-back is set to have surgery after being assessed back in Bristol.

It is the fourth injury Pring has sustained in less than a year, missing 14 Championship games last season due to issues with his hamstring plus a lower leg laceration in October.

Pring also missed out on the final two games of the regular season but did return to start the second leg of their play-off semi-final defeat by Sheffield United in May.

Bristol City goalkeeper Max O'Leary faces three to four months on the sidelines following surgery on his ankle.

The 28-year-old played every minute of every Championship match for the Robins for the past two seasons.

Full-back Luke McNally has also suffered a "minor setback" in his recovery from the anterior cruciate ligament injury that has kept him out since February, a club statement said.

Left-back Cam Pring also sustained an ankle injury during the pre-season training camp in Portugal, which concluded last week, and is due to be assessed on return to Bristol.

Midfielder Joe Williams - who went off during the play-off semi-final first leg defeat by Sheffield United in May with an ankle ligament injury - and Max Bird are both "hopeful" of being available for the start of the season.

City begin their Championship campaign away at the Blades on Saturday, 9 August at 17:30 BST.

Bristol City goalkeeper Lewis Thomas has signed a new one-year contract with the club, with the option of a further year.

The 27-year-old has yet to make an appearance for the Robins since joining in 2023.

Thomas began his career with Swansea and spent five years with Forest Green Rovers, where he worked alongside Bristol City goalkeeping coach Pat Mountain.

City start their Championship campaign away at Sheffield United on 9 August.

"To get a player of his standard on a free transfer is a really good signing for Bristol City.

"He suffered a bit last season, coming off the bench, and I think there was an acceptance that Emil was going to leave at the end of the season from quite early on."

Chris Hogg and James Krause have left Bristol City to join Liam Manning's coaching team at Norwich.

Former Hibernian player Hogg, 40, will be assistant head coach, having worked with Manning at the Robins, Oxford United and MK Dons, and also has previous coaching experience at Newcastle United.

New first-team coach analyst Krause also worked with Manning at Ashton Gate and the MKM Stadium, and previous worked at Arsenal.

They join first team coach Ryan Garry, who has arrived from Lommel SK and previously was part of the youth set-up at the Gunners and England.

Sporting director Ben Knapper told the Canaries, external website: "Chris and James are, of course, well known to Liam, both forming a key part of his staff for some time now, across multiple clubs.

"They have both slotted in seamlessly this week and will be key in supporting Liam and the staff more broadly in creating a top-class environment for our players.

"It's a really exciting team to be supporting Liam in delivering a truly elite football programme."

Bristol City have appointed Bernd Eibler as assistant head coach following the departure of Chris Hogg to rejoin former boss Liam Manning at Norwich City.

The Austrian has previously worked alongside new Robins boss Gerhard Struber at MLS team New York Red Bulls and German side FC Cologne.

This will be the first time Eibler, who did not play football professionally, has worked in English football.

"Bernd is a bright young coach who will bring an energy and football development to the club," Struber told the club website., external

"I am very glad to have him join me at Bristol City."
