The Scotland tops and kilts are starting to be seen around Boston, normally taking shelter under the nearest tree.

As expected, it is hot and very humid and those hardy souls making the trek across the Atlantic will need well hydrated over the next few days.

As has been reported in other host cities, Boston does not - at least on my initial short stroll around - seem to be a place gripped by World Cup fever. A few locals have even asked what we're doing here! In a very pleasant way, to be clear.

As the Scotland fans continue to pour in, the residents of Boston will soon got a proper sense of what the World Cup is all about.

37,000 feet in the air, heading up on east to Boston from Charlotte, and I’m tuning in to hear from Kenny McLean.

Reckon I’m the only one on this flight doing that, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Permitting we have no technical issues - *touches wood and crosses fingers* - you should all be able to watch and listen to Mr McLean when he arrives.

I'll also skelp an energy drink or a coffee between now and then so my transcribing is at World Cup level.

You'll have quotes here on this page.

  6. McLean to face mediapublished at 17:15 BST 11 June

The MD 20/20 will be in cold storage for now as Kenny McLean and the rest of the troops prepare for a HUGE World Cup opener against Haiti.

The team are getting ready to head to Boston for the weekend for that match, but not before the Norwich midfielder faces the media.

He is expected to speak to the press at about 17:30 UK time. Not long.
