Viktor Gyokeres didn't attempt a pass in the first half. He did have three shots though, and cleared a corner. Five touches.

    Burnley 1-2 Newcastle

This is turning into another hard luck story for Burnley.

They're all over Newcastle - 13 attempts, four on target...but they still trail.

As it stands the Clarets will reach the halfway stage of the season six points from safety.

Some chances, no goals as this title clash is level at the break.

What about that for a touch. He wasn't to know the flag was going to go up. Saliba was superb there.

Villa forward Morgan Rogers is booked for not letting Jurrien Timber take his free-kick when he wanted to.

I mentioned Wolves weren't out of it in my last post.

Wolves deserved that. Patrick Dorgu didn't get to Ladislav Krejci quickly enough.

That was pretty much the last action of the first half.

Boos at half time from the home supporters.

    Burnley 1-2 Newcastle

Burnley have been brilliant since the break, Newcastle cannot cope at the moment. Eddie Howe is in discussions with his coaching staff about making some changes. It is all Burnley.

    How did he miss that?

Loum Tchaouna peels away from his marker to meet Marcus Edwards' cross but it drops wide.

That should have been on target at the very least.

    A huge let-off for Newcastle.

  11. Postpublished at 21:01 GMT 30 December 2025

    Arsenal 0-0 Aston Villa

William Saliba is probably disappointed to see the offside flag go up here as his impressive tackle denies Oliie Watkins a tap-in for Villa. It wouldn't have counted.

    Chelsea 2-2 Bournemouth

I almost can't believe this is the same game that was so entertaining in the first half.

Chelsea are the better team now but there's not many chances being created.

  18. Wolves not out of thispublished at 20:58 GMT 30 December 2025

    Man Utd 1-0 Wolves

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport Chief Football News Reporter at Old Trafford

The game has opened up a bit since Joshua Zirkzee's opener.

Given Manchester United have only kept two clean sheets all season and never in successive games under Ruben Amorim, the home side probably need a second.

Senne Lammens hasn't had loads to do but he needed to be alert to keep Hugo Bueno's effort out just then.

Wolves have lost their last three away games by a single goal at Aston Villa, Arsenal and Liverpool. They are not out of this.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:58 GMT 30 December 2025

    Chelsea 2-2 Bournemouth

That's it for Cole Palmer as Chelsea manage his minutes as he continues his return from injury. The home fans are not a fan of this change and there's some boos.

    Joao Pedro replaces Palmer.
