There are so many factors in a successful title run. It was naïve for people to assume that just because Arsenal pushed Man City close last year this season they would/will go on to win it. Other teams are building and evolving too. They're not even guaranteed top four!

In the Premier League, the record for points behind first by an eventual champion who had played exactly 10 games is eight, which was Blackburn on 22 October 1994. Blackburn had played a game fewer than leaders Newcastle on that occasion, though.
The only others to have come back from a sizeable gap in the first 10 games were Manchester United in the 2002-03 season, when they were six points behind, and Manchester City in the 2014-14 and 2020-21 seasons (also six points).

What is all this nonsense about injuries and Arsenal? It's fair to say Odegaard is a real miss but Calafiori was hardly a nailed starter. Is there anyone else? Also, it's on Arteta and Edu that they let Smith Rowe go when they could have sorely done with him.

Shame after last year I thought we would push on. But Saliba's heads been turned by Real so our defence isn't as cohesive as last season, and our forwards can't score. Sterling has brought nothing and Trossard is regressing.

All six Premier League games between Wolves and Crystal Palace at Molineux have been won by a two-goal margin – Wolves’ three wins have all be 2-0, while the Eagles have won 2-0 twice and 3-1 once.
Crystal Palace have won six of their last seven Premier League games against Wolves (L1), as many wins as they’d managed in their previous 20 league matches against them (D4 L10).
Wolverhampton Wanderers are winless in nine Premier League games this season (D2 L7). They’ve only had a longer winless start to a top-flight season once, going 14 games in 1983-84.
