There are plenty of teams to be excited about that Brighton could play.

They did the home and away double over former European champions Ajax in the Europa League in 2023 and the Dutch giants are in the Conference League draw.

There will be 36 teams in the draw, including Monaco, Copenhagen, Atalanta, Braga, Freiburg, Twente, Panathinaikos and Hearts.

Those dropping down from the Europa League play-offs include Red Star Belgrade and a Trabzonspor side that features ex-Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

It will be six matches for each side in the league phase, against six different opponents - three at home and three away.

The draw for the Conference League will take place at 13:00 BST on Friday, after the draw for the Europa League has been done.

Six more guaranteed European matches for the Brighton fans to look forwards to.

Brighton secure their place in the main phase of the Conference League thanks to a truly dominant four-goal thrashing of Norwegian side Tromso.

Goals in the first half came from Charalampos Kostoulas, Maxim de Cuyper and Mats Wieffer with Olivier Boscagli adding a fourth late in the second half.

Job done. European tour assured.

After being held to a 0-0 draw in Norway a week ago, Brighton fans had every reason to be anxious going into tonight.

Boss Fabian Hurzeler called it a "do or die" game, and he will be delighted at what his players have given him tonight.

Brighton have been superb and fully deserve their convincing victory, which will be confirmed soon. They have outplayed Tromso from the first minute.

A fifth and final change for Brighton with Matt O'Riley off and Malick Yalcouye, a 20-year-old midfielder, on.

Yalcouye had a season on loan at Swansea City in the Championship in 2025-26 and will be looking to impress.

Brighton's Bart Verbruggen makes a smart save down to his left to deny Troy Nyhammer's effort from 18 yards out, although the flag is then raised so it wouldn't have counted anyway.

Substitute Ibrahim Osman is operating on the left flank for Brighton and he gets a shooting chance, only to strike the outside of the post from a tight angle.

Brighton think they have got a fourth when Olivier Boscagli rifles in a half volley after Jakob Haugaard had parried the ball, but Boscagli had been standing in an offside position and the flag is raised.

A very rare chance for Tromso, but it is an awful effort with the ball ballooned miles over the top.

Yasin Ayari has a shot for Brighton, but it is deflected and that takes out all of its power, with the ball looping up and into the hands of goalkeeper Jakob Haugaard.

Two more changes for Brighton with Diego Gomez and Maxim de Cuyper replaced by Zadok Yohanna and Ibrahim Osman.

Yohanna is a 19-year-old Nigerian right-winger, who moved in a £21.5m deal in the summer from Swedish club AIK Stockholm.

Osman is a 21-year-old winger, who has represented Ghana and had a spell on loan at Birmingham City in the Championship last season.

All credit to the Tromso fans. Loads of them have their red scarves held above their heads and they are helping to make it a great atmosphere, even though the result does not appear to be in doubt.

Charalampos Kostoulas wriggles to create some space in the Tromso penalty area, but can't keep his effort down and fires over the top from the top corner of the six-yard box.

The Brighton fans are already in party mood, making a lot of noise and looking forward to future adventures. Tromso have been completely outplayed, the only surprise is that Brighton have only scored three so far.

Tromso substitute Leon Hein has suffered a facial injury, but is able to continue. From a free-kick, the ball is launched forwards by the Norwegians and Albion keeper Bart Verbruggen has a rare touch of the ball, gathering it well ahead of another sub in Lars Olden Larsen.

Charalampos Kostoulas and Costinha are both stretching to get on the end of a dangerous cross from left from deep, but neither can get a touch.

It would've probably been 4-0 if they had done.

A couple of changes for Brighton at half-time, with Lewis Dunk and Mats Wieffer given a breather and replaced by Pascal Struijk and Costinha.

It is his first minutes in Brighton colours for Struijk following his £20m summer move from Leeds.
