The Liverpool fans are in dreamland. They've had a tough season but they won't forget this afternoon in a hurry. They'll always be able to say that they won the first derby at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. What a result for Arne Slot.

  2. 'Salah and Van Dijk have broken Everton hearts'published at 16:06 BST 19 April

Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Hill Dickinson Stadium

It's hard to say who deserved it.

I think a draw would have been the fair result but it's nothing to do with fairness.

Liverpool have got gears to go through.

Virgil van Dijk had a very good game today. It's van Dijk again, it's Mo Salah again and they have broken Everton hearts.

That header. I think, has given Liverpool Champions League football for next season.

I cannot see them losing it from here.

  3. Where did it go wrong for Burnley?published at 16:06 BST 19 April

    FT: Nottingham Forest 4-1 Burnley

    Kevin Nolan
Former Newcastle midfielder on 5 Sports Extra at The City Ground

FIrst half they kept Forest at bay, but Pereira will have told his players to put pressure on Dubravka. When you put Burnley under pressure, you should get good outcomes and today Forest did.

Liverpool's players celebrate in front of the away fans, as well they might, after a massive win.

Virgil van Dijk is the hero but it is Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah - playing in their final Merseyside derbies - who are pushed forward to lead the celebrations.

The first derby at the Hill Dickinson goes the ways of the Reds, who are now seven points clear of Chelsea in the race for fifth and a spot in next season's Champions League.

  5. Gibbs-White shakes off nervespublished at 16:05 BST 19 April

    FT: Nottingham Forest 4-1 Burnley

    Kevin Nolan
Former Newcastle midfielder on 5 Sports Extra at The City Ground

He snatched at a chance [before his first goal] and we thought it might be nerves. Good players don't dwell on it, they wait for the next opportunity.

Hats off to him. He stepped up when his team needed it.

    FT: Aston Villa 4-3 Sunderland

    Rachel Corsie
Former Scotland captain on BBC Radio 5 Live

Quite amazing scenes. This has to be one of the best games in the Premier League so far, two teams that were right up for it, played in the right manner, both believed in their ability.

Brilliant discipline and defensive structure to make it difficult for both teams and amazingly along side that we ended up with seven goals.

Villa looked like they were cut and dry but the character of Sunderland, it's hard to find words for. They never gave up, they made changes.

    A wonderful game of football.

It's just a brilliant whipped ball in from the corner kick.

Virgil van Dijk gets his header right and makes it look incredibly easy at the near post.

    That is a classic.

    LIVERPOOL HAVE DONE IT!

Right at the death, Virgil van Dijk pops up with what will surely be the winning goal.

In-swinging corner from Dominik Szoboszlai and the Liverpool skipper holds off James Tarkowski and nods the ball home from six yards.

What a moment that is for Liverpool and Arne Slot.

A roar of relief from the Villa crowd!

They made hard work of that at the end, but the hosts are the winners at the end of a seven goal thriller at Villa Park.

Sunderland fought back brilliantly and could have won it at the end, but they leave empty handed.

  18. CLOSE!published at 15:57 BST 19 April

    Everton 1-1 Liverpool

Nearly a stunning derby moment for Rio Ngumoha!

It's a really good chance for the teenager as Liverpool work the ball nicely through the Everton half.

The pass invites him to hit it first time, he does but curls it high over the bar.

  19. Postpublished at 15:56 BST 19 April

    Nottingham Forest 3-1 Burnley

    Kevin Nolan
Former Newcastle midfielder on 5 Sports Extra at The City Ground

With all the emotion he must have gone through this week, Elliot Anderson has been by far the standout player of the game. Everyone will obviously talk about Morgan Gibbs-White, but I have lots of respect for Anderson, the way he has conducted himself has been fantastic.
