Arsenal's Riccardo Calafiori speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We are happy for this huge and important win. It was tough as well because we were one man down. But we fought a lot and we deserved the win.

"We don't have so much time to think about whether it was a red card or not. In the end, it's how we reacted to it. We reacted so good. What we said at half-time was not to put ourselves in the defensive mood. We wanted to attack just like if we were still with 11 men on the pitch and win the game and we did."

On turning red card into motivation: "We used to it to put ourselves not in trouble, but to give us more energy and purpose."

On his winner: "I like to score important goals. But there is a lot to improve. I want to stay available till the end of the season to help the team.

"I don't score a lot of goals but if you see my previous ones, I always score without controlling the ball. They are normally pretty difficult. So I don't know, maybe I have to improve withe the more easier chances."

Liverpool

More from Liverpool boss Arne Slot on the title race: "We are mainly focused on ourselves. We had to win this game because it's expected from Liverpool that we win this game. It's so pleasing to see that we had a comfortable win."

On next Saturday's game with Bournemouth: "They have been a joy to watch - so have we. It's a very interesting match up."

Wolves

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira speaking to Sky Sports: "We played with quality and we were competitive. We created chances. We defended set-pieces very well. But in the end, it's football. Our supporters were with us and helping us. The players tried everything to win the game. But the result did not reflect what happened on the pitch."

"In the last game against Chelsea, I didn't like our game honestly. But today, I can't say anything to this team. They ran and ran a lot, they had quality with the ball against a team that press a lot. We were consistent with our defending and we crated chances with quality. But in the end, we need to get the end result. It's a hard fight till the end and we need to keep going."

On Joao Gomes' red card: "Joao is a player who gives a lot. He gives a lot to us, the club. It seems that he gave me signals that he is in his emotional balance and that he will control himself. But in the end, it's football and football is emotions and he got the second yellow card. It was a pity but that's what it is."

Everton

Everton boss David Moyes speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "That second half was about two hours long! It was really, really difficult but the players put in one hell of a performance, backs to the wall stuff a little bit, down to ten men for the last ten or fifteen minutes plus extra time. A great performance.

"I have got to say Dychey [Sean Dyche] left an awful lot of good things at this football club. Resilience, being hard to beat, tough, they had all that. We are now just trying to add a little bit more. Can we make some more chances? Can we get some more goals? Add those sorts of things to the game.

"I think so [being at Everton means more]. I know exactly the fans are looking for and they were fantastic again today. They didn't have much to shout about in the second half but the games we have had so far, beat Tottenham last week, won again today, so that's back to back wins for the first time this season. For us to put that in place for the supporters is great.

"Everton has always been incredibly special to me. I had eleven and a half great years here previously, some wonderful memories. I don't know if I'll do another eleven and a half but I'll see how far I can go.

"My only concern at the moment is that we stay away from the bottom three and we take Everton into the new stadium as a Premier League clubs. Today's points and the ones we got on Sunday will help greatly. The players have been great, they really have been. I see the improvement in them. I hope we can take that into the coming weeks.

"We always hoped that we would do business in this window but we had an injury to Dom [Calvert-Lewin] today and another one to Mangala, which is a downside of the result. Hopefully we have some time to do some more deals."

Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on if his dad enjoyed it: "I think he would. To be clear he thought the Lille game wasn't as exciting as the games before. But with us scoring four goals I assume he finds it more exciting than Lille game.

"We created more chances and scored more goals [than Lille game]. The only thing I'm not happy about is conceding from a set piece at the end.

"The players are very fit but we have to keep them fresh.

"As a manger I don't think you dream that much. You don't think about when you start at a new club about the amount of points. I think about how can I make sure these players play in a style I would love them to play.

"And they have done that from the start. Today as well...the work-rate they put in when we lost the ball to prevent them from playing the counter-attack. It's a joy to watch.

"Many fans prefer to see goals and assists, I also enjoy the work rate we put in every game."

Southampton

Southampton manager Ivan Juric: "I think today my guys gave everything they have. They are fighting well, playing well, creating chances. Of course Newcastle is the better team. I don't have many negative things to say to my guys."

On responding to defeats: "It's not easy of course but they have to work hard. We have splendid fans and we have to do our best and prepare well for the next game.

On Newcastle's penalty award: "Watching it now it was not a penalty. For me it can never be a penalty. For me it's a foul for us because he (Joe Aribo) is in front for the ball.

On hopes for the rest of the season: "Of course the situation is really bad but I want to fight and create something. I saw some good moments today. We have to understand really well which players are for the Premier League."

The wild Arsenal celebrations said it all today. First, after the goal when Riccardo Calafiori ran to the dug out, joined by all the coaching staff and his team-mates.

Then at the full-time whistle when it went crazy in the away end and I saw the like of Declan Rice showing all his joy on the pitch.

Contrast that to the scenes just before half-time when a very upset Myles Lewis-Skelly was ushered off the pitch after one of the most controversial red card decisions I’ve ever seen. Very harsh.

Great character from Arsenal today but no doubt at all that the turning point was the Wolves red card after a reckless challenge by Joao Gomes.

On whether Myles Lewis-Skelly's red card fired up his team: "I don’t know, I think they were fired up already. It’s obvious that it was very difficult to accept."

On the red card: "Very expandable, very easy. I leave it to you guys because it’s that obvious that today, you don’t need my words. It was so obvious."

On whether the club will appeal the red card: I’ll leave that to the club. Hopefully, we don’t even need to."

Wolves

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira speaking to BBC's Match of the Day: "Yes, yes, yes. At the end of the game, I tell you we lost a big chance to win this match because we play a very good game. In my opinion, we played a very good game.

"Tactically, commitment, energy, we did everything to win the game. What [we] missed was to score one goal. We had two chances before they scored, we have two clear chances to score the first goal. After the yellow card for Joao, they score one goal and we didn’t."

On Joao Gomes' red card: "Yes, but look Joao gave a lot to us. He’s a player that in every match, gives 100% from himself. We talked at half-time and he said to me ‘coach, emotionally I’m balanced, I’m okay, I will control myself. Don’t worry, don’t worry.’ In the end, it is football’.

"The problem, we must say, [is] we need solutions for the midfield. We need solutions, we need to have more players with the skills to play with two in the middle. I think [in] the next days, we have to bring another midfielder because we need it."

Wolves

"Let’s see the future. Learn with experience, learn from this kind of experience and I believe he will learn the lesson. He’s a player I can never, ever criticise a player like Joao because every time, he’s a player with commitment with the team."

On whether he felt competitive with Arsenal: "Of course. Of course. Of course. It was a game, eyes on eyes with Arsenal, with a team that we know what they have as a squad. We play eyes on eyes, we play full pitch.

"We try to play our game, try to create our chances and did create our chances and the result, this was the type of game that the result doesn’t reflect what happens on the pitch, but this is football."

That’s a really gutsy Everton win, and their relegation concerns are easing very quickly.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe speaking to BBC Sport: "It was a tough game. We knew it would be. Southampton came out quickly and scored. That changes the dynamic of the whole game because I thought we started really well. We needed to really dig deep, it was a big test of our character especially after what happened last week (against Bournemouth). We needed a big response and we got that with the penalty, we never looked back.

On Isak: "He took the penalty really well. He was really good in lots of moments during that first half. He was the conduit, he was the guy linking play for us and then on the end of bits and pieces. He's taken the second goal really well, it was a great move from the team. Delighted with him, delighted for the group. It's a big win for us.

On Newcastle's travelling support: "The noise created by our away support was incredible. Those that braved those elements to come down we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
