Man City players want to know that the manager is still going to be there. It's great for the Premier League that he has signed his contract.

His style is ever-developing and evolving. It will settle the players down and from a supporters point of view there is nobody else better.

He has been banned rightly. People in the limelight are exposed in such situations, but punishment is needed.

He has apologised and made a mistake, we are all humans and we all make mistakes but there are consequences to mistakes.

With Tottenham who knows.

They beat Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, they put four past Aston Villa, but then they lost to Galatasaray and lost at home to Ipswich.

You just don’t know with Tottenham.

It's a big game for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City today.

Guardiola is in the worst run of his career - with four consecutive defeats in all competitions, including a Carabao Cup loss to today's opponents Tottenham.

But this week he signed a new two-year contract and says he will stay even if they are demoted to non-league football when a decision is made on the Premier League's 115 charges.

And a win today would take them to within two games of top spot (albeit with an extra game played on Liverpool).

Tottenham, who have been wildly inconsistent, are roughly midway between the Champions League places and the relegation zone.

I have seen Ethan Nwaneri a couple of times and he's extra special.

Arsenal left Kai Havertz and Declan Rice out and we hardly even noticed it. Arsenal have got bigger tests to come, but they have got some very special players.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton forward Joao Pedro: "We lost an important player in the middle of the game. It is a great win, I think we deserved to win and now we move forward."

On his role in the win, including scoring the opening goal: "I think everyone expected that from me, I am one of the leaders here and I am very happy to help my team-mates."

On his relationship with Brighton's forward players: "We at the front have a good relationship. I know (Kaoru) Mitoma really well and I knew he would make this run.

"The relationship we have is great. I think everyone is a big star in their country, Kaoru, Georginio [Rutter], Danny [Welbeck], it's very good for me and I'm very happy to play with them."

Brentford

Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken: "If you look at the second half, they had their chances but we defended well. Unfortunately, we couldn't get more up front in the second half but I'll take that point.

"I don't know, I think it would be more of a concern if we had bad performances away from home but it isn't the case. We played some good matches against good opponents. If we keep it up then the wins will come."

Everton

Everton defender Ashley Young: "I think we should have got three points. There's a lot of disappointed heads in there. It's one loss in eight, another clean sheet. You've got to take the positives. Everyone wanted to get back to winning ways. We started it on the front foot and if we score, it's a different game.

"We need to score goals and defend at the other end. We need to score goals and get points on the board. We've got people in the squad who know the Premier League. We know what we're doing in training. It's one loss in eight. When a side goes down to 10 in the first half, it's disappointing not to get the three points."

Brighton scored in the opening stages of both halves but aside from that it was all Bournemouth. Andoni Iraola will be delighted with his team's performance, just not in front of goal.

Leicester City

Leicester boss Steve Cooper told BBC Sport: "Two things - the game overall and how it's played out and the moments that haven’t gone for us.

"We were preparing for one of our toughest games. The first 30 minutes proved to be that. We gave away a soft goal. We had good chances, maybe as good as the ones they created. What didn’t go to plan was showing a bit more with the ball.

"The second half we had to open up the game and you run the risk of seeing Chelsea at their best. They have had huge investment, a highly talented team.

"We have created moments with the penalty decisions that haven’t gone our way. To win a game like this you have to have a bit of luck."

On the officials and penalty decisions: "[The referee initially gave] offside for the second one and he was about half a yard on. We've had a lot of bad luck with this referee this year. Through VAR and officiating on the pitch.

"It's our third or fourth game with him and it's not been the best of times. It continued today. The last thing PGMOL needed was that performance. He’s got some big decisions massively wrong but in general a couple of advantages he blew up. I don’t know if he lost concentration or composure but it’s not what referees needed in the first game live. It’s a pity. It’s going to be all the talking points. Disappointed it’s us on the wrong end of it."

On the season: "We knew how tough the challenge of the season would be on and off the pitch and it’s proved to be that. If we stayed 15th for the rest of season a lot of people at the club would be happy but I want more, the players want more. We’re up for the challenge and I’m certain we’ll get enough points, results, performances."

Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca told BBC Sport: "Good performance. Overall we deserved to win. It was also a good game to learn many things.

"For the first 30 minutes we were in complete control of the game and then started to make some mistakes and lost some control. In the last 10 minutes of the first half we started to be a bit sloppy. This is something we can learn that in football you can’t drop anything."

On Nicolas Jackson: "Since we started he’s doing fantastic. Everyone is watching the goals and assists but the way he works off the ball and presses, he’s doing very well."

On Enzo Fernandez: "Enzo is doing fantastic since we started. The game plan requires different types of players for every day. Today was a game for Enzo."

On facing his old club: "It’s been a pleasure to see old friends and good people."

Boos from the fans that still remain at full time. If there is another scrap to avoid relegation in Everton's future then today might just be the day that many look back upon.

They played really well, both against 11 and 10, completely dominated, had numerous good chances to score but couldn't take any of them.

Just how critical might this result prove to be? This one feels like this might be more damaging than most for Everton.

Lots of decent performances, but those two [Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka] are head and shoulders above anybody else in this game - a joy to watch.

It looks like Arsenal are back.

Two wins on the spin for Wolves in what was a brilliant afternoon for Gary O'Neil's side at Craven Cottage.
