    "The fans have come out and it's very special for the club. It's a special night for everyone here and Carrick as a town. Carrick haven't won a trophy in my lifetime and hopefully it can kick start out season a bit more. We want an Irish Cup run as well to make it a really special season."

    Carrick Rangers scorer Adam Lecky: "It's unbelievable and we're really proud. A team like Carrick doesn't get to many finals so we know what it means to the club.

    "The game probably passed us by a bit in the first half but we got to grips with it in the second half. We were the much better team and I think if the game went on five or 10 minutes more then we would have got a winner. We're delighted to see it through on penalties.

    "We're really proud and you play football for these big finals. We're delighted for the fans."

    It's all over at the Oval where Glentoran book their place in the sixth round of the irish Cup with a comfortable 4-0 win over Strabane Athletic.

    Jordan Stewart opened the scoring midway through the first half before Pat Hoban double the home side's advantage in added time at the end of the first half.

    Hoban added a second just after the hour before defender Michael-John Kamara completed the scoring with a header from a Danny Amos corner near the end.
