West Ham United

West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “We had more chances than them. In the second half, we had more clear chances to win the game.

“The first half was a gift for them. We lost 45 minutes. In the second half we did better, we were aggressive and had chances to win.

“The matches aren’t about 45 minutes. They are 90 minutes and [stoppage] time. That’s why I’m not happy, for sure. I think we can, and have to, do better.

“I can’t complain about the behaviour of the players in the second half. They were brave and they were aggressive.

“Pickford was one of their best players. Sometimes, it can happen that you don’t score. The positive thing is the clean sheet.”

Everton

Everton manager Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “There’s a lot of noise at [West Ham] at the moment, which affected the game. It’s another point and clean sheet on the road. With a little bit more in the final third, we’d have had more points this season.

“We had pockets where I thought we were a threat. A lot of our game was good today. We opened up the game when we could and defended resolutely when we had to.

“We just need a bit of devil in the final third and a bit of devil in the box, but it’s not easy in the Premier league.”

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I don't look for excuses. I think we had a competitive squad available. We have to be honest, Fulham were the better team today. We made too many mistakes, we gave them the chances and goals too easily. When we had our two or three chances we didn't take them. Overall they were the better team and this is what we have to expect today."

On Justin Devenney making his debut: "I think it was okay for him but I didn't expect that he was the leader in our midfield. He did well, he tried everything. It was also difficult for him today. I think several players it was not their best day and it's also a tough for a young player having their debut."

On Marc Guehi playing out of position: "You can't always choose the situations. It happens and then you have to be here. Fulham played really well, very aggressive, very direct, a lot of pace in their attack. It was a difficult game and when you make too many mistakes it's tough coming back and coming back."

On struggling to come back after the red card: "It's too many mistakes and then you lose your confidence. We didn't pass quick enough, we were not accurate enough, then when you give them the ball too often you get punished and this is what happened today."

Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think we deserved much more but it is what it is. Great three points, great team performance. I think we have been seeing better things every match, every day that we are working with them. The confidence from the last game to this game is clear as well. The commitment, the attitude, the desire to do great things was there again."

On their counter-attacks: "We know how to do it, we know how to arrive with the ball. For us to do it we have to be brave off the ball, good positioning from ourselves was going to be important. Most of the times we decided with quality."

On Emile Smith Rowe: "Sometimes the most expensive ones are the players that don't perform. When you saw him and we had a small chance to fight to have him here, I told our board that we need to fight with everything we can because we needed a player like him. Creative in those pocket areas, a player who will score more throughout the season - I don't have doubts - he's a lovely kid, a lovely boy who is going to become a man and improve. He's already a really good player, he's going to be a top player. It's so nice to have a talent like him to work with."

On Harry Wilson: "I know that Harry wants to play from the start. Great impact on Monday against Brentford, it was an amazing moment from him and this afternoon again. We know he has the sharpness to go and create these kind of moves. This afternoon he scored in the same way as well, when he arrives in certain areas he has the ability to put the ball in the net. He has this quality, this ability."

Fulham deserved the win. They scored a couple of good goals and had a few more disallowed through tight VAR decisions. There is no denying that they were much the better team. Palace have got big problems.

Wolves

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Pleased for the group. They've given a lot and played better than we had today and came away with nothing. it was a gritty performance. Southampton are an awkward side to play against. We had to be patient. I thought we were excellent in the second half.

"We spoke a lot about this week about everyone being responsible. We did a lot of work on out-of-possession stuff. Half-time came at a good time for us and we could tweak it. It was a big clean sheet and I'm pleased for Jose Sa. He's had to work hard since Sam Johnstone came in.

On Cunha: "He's huge for us. He has such ability but he is one of those players who drifts and takes up positions. We work very hard on him on how it is to be a trusted team player when we don't have the ball. He's worked very hard on it after I spoke harshly to him after Brentford away. A big win for us and Matheus Cunha had a big say in it.

Change in performance: "Brentford was a big mark for us. We went there and we were miles below our level. We should have got something off Man City here and then we've gone three unbeaten. It's going to be a big fight for us but we know we can turn it around."

Southampton had a lot of possession but struggled to do much with it. I thought it was a really harsh decision to disallow their goal. The referee made the decision and what happened to the high bar and referee's call? It wasn't a obvious error and I thought they were really hard done by.

I'll use half-time to bring you some reaction from Saturday's 15:00 GMT games.

Erling Haaland drifted in and out of the game before his chance but it just goes to show the player he is. You give him a sniff of goal and he will take it.

On the whole Brighton have been positive, tried to win the ball high up the pitch, but have they been clinical enough? Probably not.

City have been cool, calm and collected and in control of this game.

Brighton getting some encouragement as they improved towards the end of the first half, the home fans particularly relishing the moments when Manchester City were forced into hacking the ball clear.

It was a different story as City controlled the first 30 minutes. They deserve their narrow lead.

Brighton did grow into the game but they haven't had a shot on target yet. Their expected goals is down at 0.39, compared to 1.91 for the visitors.

It is worth remembering that City were dominant for about 40 minutes of their 4-1 defeat by Sporting in the Champions League on Tuesday but were blown away at the start of the second half.

This game is far from done.

The visitors lead at the break through Erling Haaland.

Brighton have grown into the game as the half ticked by, though.

There will be a minimum of two minutes added on at the end of the half.

It seemed like Igor Julio was in control of that situation, Erling Haaland was on the half way line and not going anywhere. I think the card was more for dissent against the initial free kick as opposed for the foul itself.

Boos ring round the Amex as Igor Julio is the latest to go into the book.

He brings down Erling Haaland on the half-way line and then reacts with disgust.

I suspect the card was more for the reaction rather than the tackle.
