Just seen the LFC team sheet and surprise, surprise, Gakpo is starting again. What is the obsession Slot has with him? When is Ngumoha going to get the game time he deserves?

    Dominic

I fear Gakpo scoring on Saturday has hindered Rio Ngumoha’s minutes. Just start him Slot and I’m 99% sure most of your haters in our fanbase will like you a little bit more!

  5. Ekitike in the goalspublished at 19:28 GMT 3 March

    Wolves v Liverpool (20:15 GMT)

What a signing Hugo Ekitike has been for Liverpool.

The 23-year-old joined the Reds in the summer from Eintracht Frankfurt and hit the ground running.

His 11 goals in the league mean he is Liverpool's top scorer.

  6. Midfield 'designed to play together' - Le Brispublished at 19:27 GMT 3 March

    Leeds v Sunderland (19:30 GMT)

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris says his midfield quartet of Enzo Le Fee, Granit Xhaka, Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra are "designed to play together."

Le Fee has played wide to accommodate the others into a more traditional midfield three but drifts inside to link up the play, something former Black Cats striker Marco Gabbiadini says makes the Frenchman a "dream player to play with for attacking players."

  7. 'Everton could do with a positive result at home'published at 19:26 GMT 3 March

    Everton v Burnley (19:30 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker to BBC Sport

You have to feel for Burnley after their brave comeback against Brentford ended in a dramatic late defeat. They have shown plenty of fight recently but that might have knocked the stuffing out of them a bit.

Everton could really do with a positive result at home after picking up two points from their past six games at their new stadium.

The Toffees got such a brilliant win at Newcastle on Saturday, when every time Newcastle got back in it, Everton scored again.

If they play like that again, they will win.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Daniel Farke's changed with confidence. He's changed the way he's set up, which you thought before he wasn't able to do. They're in a really good position.

The Toffees, who sit eighth, won five of the first nine league games at their new ground on the banks of the River Mersey, but they are winless in their past seven, their worst run at home since going nine without a victory at Goodison Park between April and October 1998.

Back-to-back losses at home to Bournemouth and Manchester United were followed up by an impressive 3-2 win over Newcastle United in a lively game at St James' Park on Saturday. Everton haven't lost three home league matches in a row since September 2023 (a run of four).

The conversation in the aftermath of the 1-0 defeat by Manchester United focused on Everton's bombardment of Senne Lammens' goal via 10 corner kicks, to no avail. Such tactics perhaps speak to a wider creativity problem for the Toffees, given only four teams have scored fewer goals at home this season.

Just seven of Everton's 16 home goals (43.75%) in the Premier League have come from open play, the joint-fewest of any club (along with Crystal Palace).

Feels like Sunderland are prioritising the FA cup with that team selection. Hoping for a Leeds win either way.

Think it's going to be a tough night with Roefs and Xhaka missing and a young keeper making his debut but let's hope we can dig in and get a result - it's never easy at Elland road.

Liverpool are nowhere near where they would like to be. When you think about reigning champions and the title defence, it's not gone to plan at all.

There is a lot of talk about Arne Slot and what possibly might happen at the end of the season, and I think if he doesn't get Champions League football, I wouldn't be surprised if the club made a change.

  13. Wolves proving harder to beatpublished at 19:16 GMT 3 March

    Wolves v Liverpool (20:15 GMT)

Wolves may well be playing Championship football next season but they have become harder to beat in recent weeks.

They've picked up four points in their last two home games, with a brilliant comeback against Arsenal and a fine win over Aston Villa.

On Arne Slot's comments about Premier League games no longer being a "joy to watch" due to the rise in set-pieces

I don't even think it's just set-pieces, I think it's just how slow the game is at the moment and side-to-side. A lot of the games that you watch are the same in the way they're set up and I think when you speak to fans at grounds, there is that feeling.

I understand what he's saying about set-pieces but they're a part of the game. Liverpool employed a set-piece coach under Jurgen Klopp and they had one under Slot, they are important in games. You've got to use your skill-set.

Arsenal are brilliant at what they do but it's also taken away from what they are good at.They heavily rely on them but if it wins you a league title, who cares?

  15. Calvert-Lewin to rediscover scoring form?published at 19:12 GMT 3 March

    Leeds v Sunderland (19:30 GMT)

After a run of seven goals in six games towards the end of last year Dominic Calvert-Lewin was quite rightly been talked about possibly being back in the England frame.

However, that run of form did not continue into the new year and he has only scored two goals in 2026.

It won't be long until Thomas Tuchel starts finalising his thoughts on his England squad for this summer's World Cup, so Calvert-Lewin could do with finding his form in front of goal quickly, and tonight might be the ideal opportunity to do just that.

  16. 'Wolves might be able to do something miraculous'published at 19:09 GMT 3 March

    Wolves v Liverpool (20:15 GMT)

Rob Edwards celebratingImage source, Getty Images

There's been a little bit of spirit and fight shown by Rob Edwards and his team.

If you think about the summer and them losing Matheus Cunha, that was a massive loss for them because he was a game-changer, and they never really replaced him or brought anyone in. Jorgen Strand Larsen didn't score the goals that he scored last year, probably mainly because Cunha wasn't in the team helping him.

They've struggled hugely and it looks like they're going to end up in the Championship next year but they'll believe if they can go on a run, they might be able to do something miraculous.

  19. Not you again!published at 19:03 GMT 3 March

    Bournemouth v Brentford (19:30 GMT)

Bournemouth have never won in seven attempts in the Premier League against Brentford (D2, L5) – the Bees are the only side the Cherries have faced without yet winning in the top-flight.

  20. Omens not good for Wolvespublished at 19:00 GMT 3 March

    Wolves v Liverpool (20:15 GMT)

The omens are not promising for Wolves tonight. They have been beaten in 83% of their Premier League games against Liverpool, the highest loss-rate by any side in any fixture contested at least 20 times in the competition's history. That includes defeats in 17 of the past 18 meetings, including the previous six.
