Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, speaking to Sky Sports: "Mixed feelings to be honest. I love scoring, I love winning. But I don't think we played very well. It's always nice when you win.

On the ruled out goal hitting his elbow: "It did, but I feel like it's a bit harsh. It's a bit of both but I understand the rules.

"I thought I would get another one. I told Hugo this would be our goal. I;m glad that it went in.

"We need to analyse what we did well and what went wrong. The intensity wasn't there but we did what we did to win.

"Florian is a really good player and really important for us. It was a different shape and a different way to play. It didn't work but we will keep working and next game we can do better.

"We need points to qualify for the Champions League. Now it's time to rest and think about the next one."

Palace have got lucky today. They struggled to break Wolves down and the crowd was on their back. There was no urgency to get into the game.

It's a mad finish after all the stuff that happened.

I can't say Liverpool deserved it over the course of the game, but that's what top teams do. Liverpool went through a few gears in the second half, not massive high ones until the last five or 10 minutes when they put the pressure on. They asked loads of questions.

You do feel sorry for Nottingham Forest but you did feel that after all that dominance you have to get ahead and they just didn't have the quality to get ahead.

Liverpool walk away here delighted but possibly relieved on top of all of that. They didn't look like a team that thought top four was on until the last 10 minutes. And then when they thought it, they won it.
