And the referee decides this is as good a time as any for a hydration break.

At the other end, Ali Olwan has a go from range and it's a comfortable save for Luca Zidane.

That's Jordan's second shot on target - albeit both have been pretty tame - with Algeria yet to hit the target.

And another opportunity for Algeria.

This time it's Fares Chaibi who gets possession on the edge of the box but his shot is charged down.

He did the hard bit really well, that first touch was immaculate. Much better quality in the pass.

The goalkeeper smuggled it.

Riyad Mahrez has a golden opportunity to break the deadlock but just seems to get the ball caught under his feet when he's one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Mahrez beat the offside trap and his first touch is brilliant but the second leaves a lot to be desired.

Hmmmm.

The Mexican wave is now making its way around the Levi's Stadium.

That might tell you all you need to know about the quality of this game so far.

Algeria have a little bit of concern for Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The Manchester City defender is the one attempting to make a challenge and there's no obvious contact that would lead to injury. It looks like Ait-Nouri may have just placed his foot down a little awkwardly.

He'll be OK to continue for now.

It feels like we've settled into the rhythm of this match now.

Algeria continue to dominate possession with a lot of lateral passing as Jordan are happy to sit in and play on the counter.

Brilliant counter-attack and movement. Good opportunity from distance from 20 or so yards out, just finding his range.

Algeria are caught with too many bodies up the field and Mousa Al Tamari almost makes them pay.

The Rennes forward has a pop from range but it's straight at goalkeeper Luca Zidane.

Riyad Mahrez might be 35 now but he's still got some slick footwork.

The Algeria captain beats his man before laying a ball down the line but the attack fizzles out.

There were some concerns over attendances in the early games of the tournament with empty seats in the stadiums, but it looks pretty full if not completely full at Levi's Stadium for this one.

There's currently a Viking clap rippling around the stadium. The Norway effect is in full swing!

Ramy Bensebaini goes down after challenging Mahmoud Al Mardi for an aerial ball and the referee blows up for a free-kick.

There didn't look to be any contact.

There's a bit of a delay to the corner being taken as referee Slavko Vincic has a word with one of the Jordan defenders about being overly-physical.

The delivery eventually comes in and Jordan manage to clear the danger.

Riyad Mahrez puts Mohannad Abu Taha under a huge amount of pressure going back towards his own goalline.

And Mahrez's pressure pays off as he wins his side a corner.

A lively start to the game, tempo fairly high. Algeria are doing well to dominate their opponent with the high tempo.

Aside from having to defend a free-kick in the opening minute, Algeria have been firmly on top. They are moving the ball with intent and playing the majority of their football in Jordan's half of the field.
