FT: PSG 5-4 Bayern Munich
Wayne Rooney thinks the advantage is with Bayern Munich.
Can't say I agree with him there.

Paris St-Germain came out on top in a nine-goal thriller against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes to take a slim advantage in their Champions League semi-final.
Five goals were scored in a breathless first half before the mayhem continued in the second period when holders PSG began to pull away, opening up a three-goal lead.
But Bayern, already crowned Bundesliga champions and pushing for a Treble, cut the deficit to one to set up a scintillating second leg in Munich.
As the two top-scoring sides in the competition this year, it was only fitting that the buoyant crowd were treated to such an impressive display of attacking talent in a high-quality encounter.
Having fallen behind to Harry Kane's penalty after Luis Diaz drew a foul from William Pacho, PSG showcased their threat to take the lead.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia picked up the ball on the left-hand side and cut onto his right foot to superbly guide a shot into the bottom far corner before Joao Neves' glancing header gave the holders the lead.
But a moment of individual brilliance from Michael Olise, jinking past players before hammering the ball beyond Matvey Safonov, put the visitors back on level terms.
It seemed a blistering first half would be level at the break but PSG were awarded a controversial penalty in the fifth minute of stoppage time when Alphonso Davies was deemed to have handled the ball in the box.
Referee Sandro Scharer was sent to the monitor and subsequently awarded what appeared to be a harsh spot-kick, the ball bouncing off Davies' leg and onto his arm before Ousmane Dembele coolly converted.
Bayern returned from the break determined to at least restore parity but were, at times, naive as the French side took control.
Kvaratskhelia converted from Achraf Hakimi's dangerous ball before Dembele netted his second at the near post to give the hosts a three-goal cushion.
Dayot Upamecano's flicked finish six minutes later was greeted only as a consolation but Diaz's finish into the far corner from Kane's brilliant pass ensured Bayern are still in the tie with the return leg taking place on Wednesday, 6 May.
The winners will face Arsenal or Atletico Madrid, who play in Wednesday's semi-final, in the final in Budapest.
A record-breaking semi-final - the antidote to modern football?

Dembele has scored six goals for PSG in this Champions League campaign
PSG have scored more than two goals in each of their past nine Champions League knockout games - the longest run in the competition's history.
But while they managed four without reply against Liverpool across their two quarter-final legs, even five goals against Bayern leaves the tie poised.
In a match full of fascinating battles, it was a stunning attacking display from PSG's formidable front three of Dembele, Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue.
In an end-to-end encounter PSG, who are aiming to become one of two sides - after Real Madrid - to win back-to-back Champions League titles, were ruthless and capitalised on a Bayern side willing to take big risks to reap big rewards.
After an even but blistering first half, after which PSG led thanks to a favourable video assistant referee decision, Bayern threw bodies forward but left themselves vulnerable and the French side punished them.
Kvaratskhelia was the driving force in attack and now has 20 goal involvements (13 goals and seven assists) in the Champions League since joining PSG in January 2025 - more than any other player in that time period.
France winger Dembele was a constant threat and has now recorded the joint-most knockout stage goal involvements for PSG in the Champions League - 10 goals and seven assists.
But for all their pressing, quality and high-tempo attacking play, the reigning champions appeared somewhat stunned that Bayern had somehow managed to get back into the tie and know a one-goal advantage may not be enough with the return leg away from home.
Bayern have already played their part in two thrilling European matches this season with their two quarter-final matches against Real Madrid also dripping in drama and quality.
In Paris, they once again found themselves involved in a match that many will pinpoint as one of the most entertaining and high-quality in recent memory.
Having wrapped up the domestic league title nine days ago, Bayern are aiming to win a first Champions League title since 2020 while they are also in the final of the German Cup as they pursue a coveted Treble.
When PSG struck twice in six second-half minutes it looked as though Bayern may be down and out.
They had left themselves open to PSG's fearsome attacking trio and paid the price.
But the visitors showed remarkable resilience to come back against a PSG side who perhaps became a little complacent.
What's more, they will feel confident in their own intimidating front three of Kane, Olise and Diaz, who have now scored more than 100 goals between them across all competitions this season.
PSG face Lorient in Ligue 1 on Saturday 2 May (16:00 BST) before travelling to Munich for Wednesday 6 May's return Champions League leg.
Bayern also play on Saturday (14:00 BST), hosting Heidenheim in the Bundesliga.

Paris SG and Bayern Munich have faced each other 15 times in the UEFA Champions League, and nine times across the last nine campaigns. Since the start of the 2017-18 edition, only Real Madrid v Manchester City has been played more times in the competition (13) than this fixture (9).
Bayern Munich have won each of their last five games against Paris SG in the UEFA Champions League, including one earlier this season (2-1 last November). This is already the longest winning streak a team has achieved against Paris SG in major European competition (5).
Paris SG have lost 60% of their games against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League (9/15 – W6), with this their highest loss percentage against any opponent they’ve faced 3+ times in the competition. Indeed, their nine total defeats against Bayen are their most against any side in the Champions League.
Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has won both of his UEFA Champions League meetings with Luis Enrique’s Paris SG (1-0 in November 2024 and 2-1 in November 2025). If Bayern win here, Kompany will have the most victories of any manager against Luis Enrique in the competition (3).
With a victory here, Paris SG boss Luis Enrique would become the fastest to 50 wins of any manager in UEFA Champions League history (currently 49 wins in 76 games). The current record is held by Pep Guardiola, who achieved his 50th victory in his 80th game (Bayern Munich 2-0 Dinamo Zagreb in December 2015).
Paris SG have scored 2+ goals in each of their last eight knockout stage games in the UEFA Champions League; the joint-longest run in the competition’s history. The only other team to do so in eight in a row was Barcelona between April 2015 and April 2016, who were also managed by Luis Enrique.
Bayern Munich and Paris SG are the joint-top scorers in the UEFA Champions League this season (38 goals), as well as having the two highest goals per game averages (3.2 for Bayern and 2.7 for Paris SG). Both sides also rank joint-first for goals scored following high turnovers, netting six times each after recovering the ball in advanced areas.
Paris SG have applied high-intensity pressure to 58% of their opponent’s touches made in the middle third of the pitch in the UEFA Champions League this season, the highest percentage of any team. Indeed, Warren Zaïre-Emery has the most high-intensity pressures in the middle third of any midfielder on the remaining four teams in this edition (265).
Paris SG’s Vitinha has completed 1,370 passes in the UEFA Champions League this season, the highest total by a player in a single edition on record (since 2003-04). The Portuguese midfielder has also completed 100+ passes in eight different games this season, with only Xavi in 2010-11 (9) doing so in more in a single campaign on record (since 2003-04).
Harry Kane’s 12 goals this season are already the most by an English player in a European Cup/UEFA Champions League campaign. Kane has scored in each of his last four knockout stage games in the competition, and could equal the longest streak by a Bayern Munich player in the Champions League (5 by Robert Lewandowski between 2016 and 2018).
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been directly involved in 13 goals in the UEFA Champions League this season (8 goals, 5 assists), just one shy of the most by a Paris SG player in a single edition, achieved by Ousmane Dembélé in 2024-25 (14 – 8 goals, 6 assists).
If Luis Díaz scores or assists in this game (6 goals, 3 assists so far), it will be the first time that three Bayern Munich players have reached 10+ goal involvements in a UEFA Champions League campaign (Harry Kane on 13 and Michael Olise on 10).
On a per 90 basis (min. 500 minutes played), the three defenders with the most attacking sequence involvements in the UEFA Champions League this season are made up of Paris SG duo Nuno Mendes (7.6) and Achraf Hakimi (7.5), followed by Bayern Munich’s Josip Stanisic (6.6).
Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich has made more defensive line-breaking passes than any other player in the UEFA Champions League this season (19). However, Paris SG have six different players with at least 10 (Vitinha, Dembélé, Mendes, Kang-In, Kvaratskhelia & Hakimi), where Kimmich is the only Bayern player in double figures.
Should Marquinhos appear for Paris SG in this game, he will equal Roberto Carlos (120) for the most appearances by a Brazilian player in European Cup/UEFA Champions League history, and joint second-most by a South American player, only trailing Lionel Messi (163).
