  2. 'Business as usual' - Crichtonpublished at 14:58 BST 29 March

    Glasgow City v Rangers (15:00)

Rangers head coach Leanne Crichton tells Sky Sports that the build-up "has been pretty calm apart from the conditions" as she prepares to face the side led by former Scotland room mate Leanne Ross.

"A three-game week, but last week's big performance against City has allowed us to focus on this game," she says.

"It is business as usual for Leanne and I. It is not the first time we have been in oppositive dugouts."

The sun has a cheek to appear now as the teams come out.

The rain and hailstone were pelting down earlier, creating a racket in here to a level I've never heard.

Sky Sports had to move their presentation team to the stands, off the usual plinth in the corner here at Fir Park, due to the crazy conditions.

  4. 'Friendships forgotten' - Rosspublished at 14:54 BST 29 March

    Glasgow City v Rangers (15:00)

Head coach Leanne Ross played for City in all six of their previous League Cup victories and is in opposition to former team-mate Leanne Crichton today.

"The nerves are there, the excitement is there, but that's normal for cup finals," she tells Sky Sports.

"As soon as the whistle goes, the friendships are forgotten.

"Every game we have played has been really close. We lost last week from a contentioius penalty decision - and it will probably close again today."

  5. City's 11 years of hurtpublished at 14:53 BST 29 March

    Glasgow City v Rangers (15:00)

Considering City's dominance of Scottish women's football near enough for the whole of the current century, it is a source of hurt for the Glasgow club that they last lifted the SWPL Cup 11 years ago.

Since beating Hibs in the 2015 final, they have lost in the final three times, more than any other side. Indeed, since they lost the first final to Kilmarnock in 2002-03, they have been runners-up six times.

However, win today - their first final since losing to Celtic in 2022 - and they will match Hibs' record of winning the cup seven times.

Lose, though, and Rangers will match Hibs and City's feat of winning the trophy four years running.

  6. How they got herepublished at 14:50 BST 29 March

    Glasgow City v Rangers (15:00)

So far in the SWPL Cup, Rangers have beaten St Johnstone 12-0, Partick Thistle 3-0 and Celtic on penalties after a 3-3 draw.

The road to Fir Park for City began with a 5-0 defeat of Hamilton Academical before Aberdeen were beaten 2-0. City then ended Hibs' cup ambitions with a 2-1 win in the semi-finals.

  7. Another close game?published at 14:47 BST 29 March

    Glasgow City v Rangers (15:00)

As mentioned, fourth-top Rangers won last Sunday's league encounter 1-0 at home to move within five points of leaders City in the SWPL.

However, that was a first for Rangers over City this season after a 1-0 defeat and 1-1 draw.

Another close enounter is expected today.

  8. Familiar territory for Rangerspublished at 14:43 BST 29 March

    Glasgow City v Rangers (15:00)

It is not only familiar territory considering Rangers are looking to lift the trophy for a fourth consecutive season.

Fir Park was also the scene of last year's 5-0 thrashing of eventual league champions Hibernian in the final after previous successes at Firhill and Tynecastle.

Meanwhile, today's two finalists met only seven days ago, when Rangers edged out this season's league leaders, City, 1-0 thanks to a Katie Wilkinson penalty in stoppage time.

  10. Downpour in Motherwellpublished at 14:39 BST 29 March

    Glasgow City v Rangers (15:00)

A pre-match downpour has forced the live TV team to abandon their pitchside positions and head into the stands.

But it has cleared up for the moment it seems.

  11. Big day for Glasgow City & Rangerspublished at 14:35 BST 29 March

    Glasgow City v Rangers (15:00)

It's one of the big days in the Scottish women's football calendar.

The Sky Sports Cup final is a fairly new name for the Scottish Women's Premier League's knock-out trophy.

But there's a bit of deja vu about the teams contesting this season's finale at Motherwell's Fir Park as holders Rangers face six-time winners Glasgow City.

Stay with us for the build-up, live action and post-match reaction on the BBC Sport website.
