Arsenal boss Renee Slegers, speaking to Sky Sports: "I think if you look at their results so far, yes, they're down there in the table, but it's been one goal differences. They've been putting in strong performances. I imagine they've been taking confidence from the performance against Chelsea, but we are focusing on ourselves."

On Kim Little and Leah Williamson returning to the squad: Really good, of course. They are important players for us, from a footballing perspective, but also their leadership, so even if they're not available to start for so many minutes, they'll be with the team, they'll be in the changing room, they will be helping the rest of the squad. Their presence is going to be huge for us."

Arsenal have had a misfiring start to the season and sit in fourth place, eight points adrift of leaders Manchester City. They have dropped points in their last two WSL games and have only won two of their previous seven league matches.

It has led to reports of dressing room disharmony, which manager Renee Slegers moved to quash at her media conference yesterday.

"We won the Champions League, historically we have been the most successful team," she said. "There was an article, but that's all noise on the outside.

"This is a high performance environment, we demand a lot from each other and it should be like that. Every group will have things they have to manage. I am very happy with where we are at, happy with the squad. We are in a process and are going in the right direction.

"I did read it [the article], but I'm not too emotional because we have such clarity on what we are doing. I don't agree with it, it's unfortunate that this is written about us. Maybe that was the emotion I felt, but not more than that."

Slegers also said she has "constant positive interaction" with club officials when asked about her contract, which expires in the summer.

Liverpool's squad has been stretched to breaking point by injury issues, and Gareth Taylor has had to name a young starting XI and only five subs on the bench.

It is a chance though for young Maizie Trueman today, with the 16-year-old midfielder among the subs.

Trueman would set a new record and become Liverpool's youngest ever female player if she were to make an appearance from the bench

Liverpool boss Gareth Taylor, speaking to Sky Sports: "We knew that these two games wrapped around an international break were two of the toughest games you could face with Chelsea and Arsenal, and particularly this one being away. I think it's about who finds their feet in the game early on.

"We know what we have to do to be successful. We know the challenge is super tough with the options they have from the start and from the sidelines, so it is what it is. It's a good challenge to have and one we want to take head-on."

Amid their keeper problems, Arsenal hand a debut today to third choice keeper Anneke Borbe.

The 25-year-old German joined from Wolfsburg in the summer on a free transfer, having ended last season as first choice for the Bundesliga Frauen side.

She has featured on the bench for a few games this campaign, but steps up today in the absence of Daphne van Domselaar and Manuela Zinsberger.

Arsenal are low on goalkeeper numbers, with first choice Daphne van Domselaar unavailable for today's game.

Van Domselaar needed an injection following a knock, manager Renee Slegers told her media conference yesterday, and is out until after the winter break.

With backup Manuela Zinsberger a long-term absentee, Slegers says they are "definitely looking" at keeper options in the January transfer window.

Midfielder Chloe Kelly is also out until the new year, after limping off during England's friendly win over Ghana on Tuesday.

It has been well documented that Liverpool have had a miserable start to the season.

They sit bottom of the table with just two points from eight games, and are still looking for their first win under manager Gareth Taylor, who was appointed in the summer.

Could a busy December schedule help them out? For Liverpool this is the first of three consecutive away games in a hectic eight days.

After today they face Aston Villa next Thursday in the match which was postponed earlier this season following the death of former manager Matt Beard.

They then travel to fellow strugglers West Ham a week on Sunday, in what could already be a relegation six pointer.

Liverpool captain Grace Fisk, who withdrew from the recent England squad with a calf injury, misses out on today's game.

Speaking to Liverpool's club website, manager Gareth Taylor added that the 27-year-old defender's injury has "come at a really bad time" for the Reds.

Fisk had captained her side in all eight of bottom-of-the-table Liverpool's Women's Super League games this season.

She was named in manager Sarina Wiegman's original squad for the first time having been called in to the Lionesses pool during the October window because of Katie Reid's withdrawal.

Arsenal boss Renee Slegers makes four changes to the side that drew 1-1 with neighbours Tottenham last time out.

Anneke Borbe makes her Gunners debut in goal as Daphne van Domselaar misses out through injury. While ex-Liverpool duo Taylor Hinds and Olivia Smith also get the nod, as does Frida Maanum in place of Katie McCabe, Caitlin Foord and Stina Blackstenius.

Club captain Kim Little and vice captain Leah Williamson both return to the matchday squad.
