Leeds United

Eddie Riemer speaking to BBC Match of the Day: I just had a short chat [with Daniel Farke]. Six minutes added time, they were time wasting and there were incidents; the goalkeeper keeping the ball so he was emotional in terms of going on the pitch and asking. Maybe he did it in a too aggressive manner I would think. I am disappointed because he's never a manager who's over aggressive or over reacting. I think it's a very harsh decision.

On the performance today: "I'm completely pleased with performance. There are parts you need to suffer and wait but we pushed City all the way, I'm completely proud of the boys it's just a shame we didn't get anything out of the game.

I'm disappointed we didn't score but that's football. Playing City, not many teams have many more chances than we did. Fair play to them. They overloaded the left side, good run, good finish."

Leeds United

Leeds assistant manager Edmund Riemer speaking to Sky Sports: "It was an outstanding performance again, we put a big shift in and once again it was an unbelievable performance for the lads. We try to recover well and be there again against Sunderland on Tuesday to produce another great shift.

"We should have scored a goal. I don't think we allowed too many chances, it was quite equal. But we concede at the worst possible time. The ball down the line was difficult to defend. They waited for this one moment and fair play to them. We tried to push but of course we can struggle against a world class team. We hd moments to score, it was a shame that we didn't score.

On manager Daniel Farke being sent off: "I had a short chat with him. There were incidents, there was time wasting. They got a yellow card in added time. Six minutes. You are emotional and then he ran on the pitch and he got a red card, I think he said for what. Perhaps it was too aggressive. He rarely gets sent off. He is never aggressive and rarely gets sent off so I think it is harsh."

On some Leeds fans booing for the pause in play for Ramadan: "I'm focused on the game so I don't really hear it but disappointed with some supporters that that happened."

Manchester City

Man City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to BBC MOTD: "We made a lot of passes that we needed to do to survive without much intention to attack. The reaction was amazing, unbelievable with the goal we scored. Complete game, in a tough, tough place and 10 games left in the Premier league. Time to be decisive.

"Now we are building these players and they have a long, long time here. It is important for the future for the club."

On new signings standing out: "Cherki, for me, is the best game. Solidity and aggressive with the ball. All of them were really good - commitment and they stick with the gameplan. Now, in that part of the season - how is the mindset?

"After nine months, everyone knows what they want to do. Especially the game for the gap of the Champions League is a bit bigger and that is so important for the club. Only English club that has been in 10-11 years every year in the Champions League."

On Erling Haaland: "We don't have spies in the training centre to deliver the info to our media. I think it is not a big issue. We will see."

Leeds United

Leeds United defender Ilia Gruev, speaking to Sky Sports: "Really frustrating. I think it was a great atmosphere and a great game from our side. The first 20-25 minutes we're so on to them. Disappointing because I thought we played a really good game today.

"This was the time and we had two three great chances. You have to score at least one.

"When you play against City they normally have more of the ball than you, but you know you have your moments then you can win some balls."

On the ending: "Emotions, they want to win, but we also want to win. It was ana exhausting game - emotions involved and this is quite normal."

Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to Sky Sports: "We make a thousand million passes and we controlled the transition and then in the last 20 minutes we created a little bit more. Huge victory to still be there.

On Leeds pressure: "All of the teams are like that but Bernardo and Rodri did really well. Once again the guys make an extraordinary effort because otherwise it is not possible."

On Antoine Semenyo: "You never know, it is like Marc [Guehi]. So many things have been good."

On Erling Haaland: "I wish he comes back."

When will he be back? "I don't know."

On whether his team can keep going: "One game at a time. Recovery, there are many games, people are tired. Every game is really, really tough. Yesterday Wolves won. The Premier League is better than ever. To qualify for the Champions League is the main target for the club because for the last 10 years we have been there."

On this team compared to previous sides: "I don't know. You want me to tell me what is going to happen against Nottingham Forest? I don't know. Thank you so much for letting us play in the FA Cup at 8pm [against Newcastle next Saturday] and then travel to Real Madrid [Wednesday 11 March at 20:00 GMT].

Manchester City

Manchester City goalscorer Antoine Semenyo, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Definitely a big one. Every game is a big one until the end of the season. We just want to win as many as we can and keep the pressure on.

"They made it tough, lots of crosses. They have a lot of guys who are good in the box good aerially, we wanted to make good contact and put them off and clear our lines.

On Rayan Aït-Nouri's assist: "I know when he gets to the line he wants to smash it across so I made the movement in front and it just landed in the right place to tap it in.

On if he will be keeping an eye on Arsenal tomorrow: "I try to wind down, try to not watch anything and just relax. We'll see what happens."

Leeds United suffered just their third defeat across their last 15 Premier League games (W4 D8), with those losses coming against three of last season’s top five (Newcastle, Arsenal & Manchester City).

Since the start of 2022-23, Manchester City have won 14 of their 18 Premier League games without Erling Haaland (D2 L2), averaging 2.4 points per game and having a 78% win rate without the Norwegian.

That wasn't a performance that Pep will be looking at tactically. That was a true professional performance and job done.

Drama at full time as Leeds boss Daniel Farke is SENT OFF.

He was onto the pitch straightaway to complain to the officials about some of the decisions made.

All over as Manchester City edge past Leeds and move within two points of leaders Arsenal.

Leeds battled hard and started really well, but ultimately ran out of steam.

Good work by Savinho to win his battle with Gabriel Gudmundsson down the left side of the pitch and then swiftly starts a Manchester City attack.
