Tottenham forward Brennan Johnson: "We have always tried to believe. When we have all the players back, we won the last two Premier League games and that's something we wanted to keep in mind.

"We played good football, but also defended well."

"With more experienced players they have had to deal with these games when we're 2-0 up, but then concede one. When we have these experienced players back we know how to get onto the ball."

On scoring against Ipswich who his father used to play for: "He [David Johnson] had a great time here.

"He holds the club in high accounts. For me, it was about getting the three points for Tottenham.

"They beat us last time and that was in our heads because we didn't want to lose today.

"It's Tottenham Hotspur - we want to be as high as we can. We want to get right up the league."

A lot is spoken about football fans leaving early but full credit to the Ipswich Town fans. All 27,000 of them have stayed behind to clap their team off despite the defeat.

It was a match that was defined by one team that took their chances and one who didn’t and the supporters have clearly acknowledged that.

If Ipswich do go down this year, they can be proud of their performances this season.

This evening's entertainment features an Aston Villa side with no win in five league matches, hosting a Chelsea team with just two wins in their last nine in the top-flight.

Villa's January additions made a positive impact as Unai Emery's men held leaders Liverpool to a 2-2 draw in midweek, and they will look to build on that performance as they aim to chase down the European places.

Despite their form, Chelsea are still level on points with fifth-placed Bournemouth, who occupy the final position expected to offer Champions League football this season.

Enzo Maresca's Blues, who will start four points above Villa before kick-off, have failed to win any of their past six away games in all competitions - losing the last three in a row.

Defeat at Villa Park would offer plenty of encouragement to the teams in hot pursuit - not least Villa themselves.

A good away performance from West Ham. Mikel Arteta will be disappointed with the goal they conceded.

West Ham hung on and Arsenal threw everything at them.

Arsenal had 20 shots with only two on target - not good enough.

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, speaking to Premier League Productions: "It was a very tough game. Bournemouth have played the whole season very good. We had to be very clever and do what was important to win and we had to be kind of lucky because the defender was imprudent with the action but this can happen. We are very happy about the victory.

"It is so hard to play without one player and we knew we needed to be intelligent and better with the ball. We worked and had some luck to win. We did not have a very good game but we did what was important to win.

"For a striker it is always important to keep scoring or providing an assist and these kind of things. The most important thing is the three points. I am happy because the goal was important to win.

"We have quality. In the second half against Liverpool we showed against the best team that we have the personality to do what we need to do to win games. We have to try and keep this level regularly."

West Ham United

West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen: "Everyone worked so hard. We knew everyone would have to dig in, defend really well and every person to a man did that today and that's why we've got the result. Everyone wrote us off but we never wrote ourselves off because we know we can win any football game."

On scoring his 50th Premier League goal: "I won the ball and Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] made a great run and it was a beautiful ball in and I couldn't miss. I knew I was one off 50 and it was really important for me today to score the goal and win us the game."

A hammer blow for Arsenal's season. You wondered at the start of the game where were the goals going to come from? A lack of real thrust and cutting edge up front.

West Ham were rigid in their defensive shape and had that all game. Brilliant performance from them but a disastrous afternoon for Arsenal.

Arsenal miss the chance to go within five points of leaders Liverpool at the top of the table. The gap remains at eight points with both sides having 12 games remaining.

Bournemouth also fail to climb into the top four, while Wolves, with their win, are five points above the relegation zone now.

This was the afternoon Arsenal had to close the gap. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

The fact Arsenal didn't bring in a striker in January. A massive day. Liverpool fans will be made up with this result.
