England manager Thomas Tuchel on tomorrow's match: "No-one needs a break. Everyone is available which is very good news. No [injury] complaints after the first match.

"[We've had] one day of recovery and two good training sessions. We are ready to give it a push tomorrow; meaning more than 45 minutes. Players will play 60, maybe 70 minutes. We will make this decision in the afternoon.

"Then, we have a chance to load the players a day later in a match behind closed doors in our training facility, then pre-camp is finished. We then start our adventure two days later in Kansas.

"Tomorrow, we expect a physcial push tomorrow. Physically, [with] intensity and style and play. We want to take the next step and we feel ready for it."

England manager Thomas Tuchel on John Stones: “He feels very, very good. He feels fully competitive. He hasn’t played a lot of minutes - not as many as we would have liked - but he was available all season and that’s a big difference. He wasn’t injured much, he has trust in his body, and most importantly, he did very well for us when he was in the camp.

"He offers a lot as a player at the highest level and is a defender of the highest quality. He can step into midfield, he’s confident in build-up, and he can switch between different formations fluidly. He’s a proven winner - he knows what it takes to win.

"On top of that, he’s a very nice person - friendly and humble. That’s the full package. I’m very happy he arrived in a calm state of mind. The best news is that he’s training every session - he’s ready to go.”

England defender Marc Guehi on Eberechi Eze and support he has received since missing his penalty in Arsenal's Champions League final defeat by Paris St-Germain: "He’s a fantastic player - I’ve seen it from day one. He’s someone who has overcome so many adversities. To be here is a fantastic achievement for him. I’ve seen his development at Crystal Palace.

"He’s a true gent - someone you love to be around - and a fantastic player.

"I congratulated him on the Premier League win. I didn’t really watch the Champions League final, but I obviously heard about it. It’s important to remind everyone of the good things they’ve done. It’s nice of the Arsenal fans to do that."

    England

England defender Marc Guehi, asked if the goal is to win the tournament: "Every single person in this room knows what the goal should be. I don't think I need to go too much in to that - but we definitely want to give a good account of ourselves, approaching every single game with the belief and with the style of play that we can hurt teams. Showing the togetherness on the pitch and giving the England fans performances that they should be proud of."

They both come from managers and styles of play that suit them. They’re both ball-playing centre-halves and really good defenders. They read the game really well.

"I’d say they’re both leaders too - they lead by example in the way they train and behave. They’re fantastic players and a big asset to the team.”

Perhaps England will win, perhaps they won’t. No one expected much in 2018, yet they made the semis. In 2010 we had a great team on paper and flopped. We’ll know soon enough. But if England do win, I’ll really enjoy seeing the doubters eat their words. Come on England!

All 31 players currently with the England squad trained here in Florida this morning ahead of the team's final World Cup warm-up clash against Costa Rica on Wednesday.

The team Thomas Tuchel plays tomorrow is expected to be closer to the one he selects for the opener versus Croatia in eight days time.

Though, the contingent of Arsenal players that arrived late are not expected to start against Costa Rica - and with Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice almost certain to play versus Croatia, the team Tuchel picks is unlikely to be the one that starts the tournament.

England will then face a behind closed doors friendly against Miami United on Thursday where Arsenal players are likely to be given a longer run-out.
