To get this win, Real Madrid need to do something more special than they have ever done. They need to play more as a team than they have done this season.

This Arsenal team is very good defensively, they are one of the best teams in Europe even without Gabriel [Magalhaes]. But if one team can do it it’s Real Madrid and if one set of players can do it it’s Bellingham, Rodrygo, Vinicius and Mbappe.

Since the start of the 2015-16 season, this will be the 16th time that Real Madrid have played the second leg of a Champions League knockout stage tie at home.

Of the previous 15, they’ve only been eliminated on one occasion - against Ajax in the last 16 in 2018-19 - and progressed from the last eight in a row.

It is something that he [Mikel Arteta] might use to start building confidence.

I think it is the type of game where that kind of thing does fly out the window.

These are one-off matches, these are huge matches. What you have done in the past doesn’t matter once you step onto that pitch.

It’s really important that the players feel confident in how good they are.

It's a great occasion, great game. Winning 3-0 in the Champions League in the first leg feels like such a big thing, but because it's against Real Madrid there's that doubt that I keep hearing amongst Arsenal fans and I understand it in some ways.

Mikel Arteta has built this Arsenal team from his mind and his connections with each individual talent in that team and he's built them to be one mind.

When I say one mind, I mean he's so serious and some people say he's too serious, but everyone's on the same path as him. And that's why I think their aura is him.

You can see on the side lines he wants to get on the pitch. He has that presence about him, you see it more when he speaks as well.

That's the difference about Arsenal, they don't have the players with the big egos. They're a team and I think Arteta takes it away from the team. I think its a good thing.

Alan: Real Madrid have become a team of lazy Galacticos, I give them no chance this evening. They have been swamped earlier this season at Liverpool & again last week at the Emirates. Look how PSG have flourished without their prima donna's.

Carlo Ancelotti has never been a manager for patterns of play. He is the king of man management and he lets the players express themselves on the pitch.

But this season there does feel like there is no structure. It feels as though this is a group of super talented players individually, but not as a team. There’s not that togetherness or cohesion tactically. Unless they play as a team, I find it hard to believe they will overturn this.

I understand the expectation of this Real Madrid group of players, Los Galactico's and the history around all that.

They're up against a stubborn team in Arsenal, and other than Inter, who you'd say would come and defend brilliantly, Arsenal are, for me, in that category of being stubborn, with defensive know-how to defend set-plays, and also a threat from set-plays themselves.

I think it's going to be a tough task for Real Madrid.

Inter boss Simone Inzaghi knows this tie isn't over and is calling on his side to produce maximum intensity inside San Siro later.

"This will be a very difficult match for us; we have to forget last week's result, but not the performance. They are top opponents; we will need a great game in terms of running, aggression and attitude."

Since then the Gunners have played 101 games and avoided a 3-0 deficit.

Bayern may be coming into this second leg needing to overturn a one-goal deficit but Harry Kane certainly isn't lacking any confidence.

"We are convinced that we can turn the result around, even if in the first leg it could have gone differently. I don't think Inter are taking the qualification for granted, I think they expect a battle. We have to play better than we did in the first leg, and in a more clinical way. But it's a challenge we are ready for."

Arsenal's players "want to create our own history" when they face Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final, says goalkeeper David Raya.

Much of the talk from defending champions Real Madrid in the build-up has been about their belief that they can stage a historic comeback to turn the tie around.

However, Raya has insisted the mindset in the Arsenal camp is about their own history as they look to reach the semi-finals of the competition for just the third time.

"We have the momentum, I think. The way we played, the way we faced them in the first leg was incredible from everyone," he said.

"We want to create our own history. Coming here to win the game, that is the most important thing."

Real Madrid haven't done it for 40 years, however it doesn't stop them dreaming.

What I find interesting and peculiar is the mentality from the Real Madrid players. Jude Bellingham's interview and Real Madrid's social media team putting their neck out there.

Something about them is in the air whether it's confidence or arrogance, but I think 3-0 is too much for them.

I went out to speak to Arsenal supporters as they built up to the game and many believe Mikel Arteta has exceeded expectations with the challenges that the team has faced this season.

Season ticket holder Tyler said: "I think from day one we had a depleted squad that wasn’t where we should be, historically if you look at an Arsenal side.

"He (Arteta) has done very well to get us to where we are now, everyone reading off the same hymn sheet. It’s exciting.

"The season hasn't panned out how we expected. With the tools we have he has done very well and probably exceeded expectations.

"It will be a fantastic achievement for us to reach a semi-final and maybe a second final in our history.

"The crown of all would be to put the European trophy on the mantelpiece and say ‘I got it first.’.
