The energy Newcastle showed against Arsenal to make it to a EFL Cup final and the celebrations afterwards is always difficult to replicate - particularly when you face a League One side who are trying to make a name for themselves.

It is always a tough, tough game in the FA Cup as Birmingham will fancy their chances. Chris Davies is a confident manager who wants to be in the Premier League one day.

After 120 goalless minutes, penalties will decide this FA Cup fourth-round tie.

Newcastle have booked their spot at Wembley once again as they look to win their first major domestic trophy since 1955 when they take on Liverpool in the EFL Cup final.

Now though, they turn their attention to the FA Cup where they take on League One leaders Birmingham for a spot in the fifth round.

Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was a tough game. As I said before the match, you get nothing as a guarantee at this level. We were the favourites and I think we showed that throughout the game but the last 15 minutes we showed them they could fight for something. I don't remember one shot from them in the first 45 minutes. We had two or three chances to kill the game and we didn't and of course when the game is 1-0, anything can happen and they have belief. It was a great strike for the equaliser but a good reaction from us. When it was the moment to keep more of the ball in the last 15 minutes, we should have kept it a lot more. It was open and we didn't want that because we gave them belief. It was a tough one but I think we deserved the win and deserve to be in the next stage."

On the battle for a starting spot between Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez: "It has been a great fight between him and Raul Jimenez, great competition, healthy competition. Every single day they are trying to help each other but they know the most important thing is the team. Both are in a great moment. The last game against Newcastle is a good example. It is a good situation for us so let's keep working hard with them and it's up to me who starts the next game."

On youngsters Martial Godo and Josh King: "They are players we believe and trust. We have to give them this experience for them to grow. Martial has had some senior football last season already and it made him grow in a good way. Josh is a top talent we have on our hands that we have to keep giving these experiences too. I think he showed his quality, his bravery and the way he can play between the lines."

On the aim for the FA Cup moving forward: "We don't hide ourselves, we know it's one of the toughest competitions in the world. All clubs aim the same but we we'll take it game by game. We know our fans ambition is big in the competition as well. We deserve to be in the next stage so we'll look forward to the draw and prepare for the next match."

Everton

Everton boss David Moyes told BBC Sport: "Disappointing start to the game. We gave away two dreadful goals. I'm pleased with the way they responded in the second half. I'm pleased with the subs, they all had an impact.

"We hit the post three times, had one cleared off line. It just wasn't our day. We just needed one of the chances to go for us and it didn't."

Could it be a blessing in disguise to focus on the league? "Maybe. The most important thing for us is to make sure we're a Premier League club. It would have been nice to get to a cup final - it wasn't like we gave it up.

"Now our focus is totally back on the Premier League and trying to do what we need to do.

"Goodison is somewhere I've gotten very used to over the years. There will be people who know Goodison more than I'll ever know. A special stadium. On its day it can have an incredible atmosphere and be intimidating. We're hoping the new stadium will give us all that. But before we talk about the new stadium we have to make sure we're a Premier League club."

Coventry

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard, speaking to BBC Sport, said: "It's very rare that a penalty comes that soon, it's a bit of a freak but our reaction was really good. We got back to 1-1 but the difference was the clinical nature of their game.

"I thought the players performed quite well but the scoreline doesn't reflect that. At 3-1 down at half-time, it's not an easy situation. The positive nature of our display was good. There were a lot of bits that we liked and some bits we didn't like."

The second half of extra time begins.

Southampton

Southampton boss Ivan Juric, speaking after defeat to Championship side Burnley:

"I think we did lots of things good. We did some mistakes in defence and it was enough to lose the game.

"I think we dominated the game, created lots of chances but we didn't score. There were some really good moments in the game, but some bad moments in defence.

"I saw really a lot of players playing at a good level. I think we were just not clinical despite dominating a lot. We really were not good in the last 20 metres [of the pitch].

"I'm disappointed we didn't win. It is a great competition and opportunity for us."

Burnley

Burnley manager Scott Parker, speaking after his side's victory over Premier League Southampton:

"Very pleased. I made a lot of changes. We were clear Southampton would put out their strongest 11 but we executed our game plan and we were well worthy of the win.

"I'm pleased for Marcus [Edwards]. He has not had a lot of football and we need to be careful around that. He scores the winner, he has been brought to give us those better habits in and around the box. It's a good start.

"We go into every game trying to win. I'm always very grateful for out travelling supporters and it's always pleasing when we can reward our fans."

On his side's defensive record: "[It takes] a lot of hard work. A mindset and mentality in this group, who understand their roles. This was another level up today against a Premier League side, with players who have not played a lot of football. This is a whole unit, a whole team, what we do defensively gives a good platform to win.

"Our main focus now is on Wednesday [against Hull City in the Championship]. We need to recover. We will have half an eye on the [FA Cup] draw of course, and we'll see who comes out the hat."

We are into the second half of extra time in this tie and still no sign of a goal.

Ipswich Town showed plenty of quality and you can see the difference with the flashes of brilliance from the Premier League footballers.

Jack Clarke is a very calm footballer and gets into really tight positions with a lot of players around him. But he doesn't seem to panic and doesn't want to get rid of the ball. He makes sure he is secure with it or his pass is secure to his team-mate.

There have been a few crosses for both sides but no real opportunities.

There will be another 15 minutes of extra time before penalties are required to decide the winner of this tie.
