Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I never thought we would lose it, so I have the biggest belief in my team. We showed resilience, character and personality.

"We kept the structure quite well and I'm really pleased. The key thing was a good structure and being patient, so don't force it. Have different patterns in the final third. I thought we had a good variation, a good flexibility. I was pleased. Overall, in possession, it was really good.

On Danny Welbeck: "It was impressive. I focused on how he was without the ball. He made the recovery runs. If the team plays well, then the individuals will shine.

On Nick Woltemade: "In my conference yesterday, I said I hoped he didn't score against us. He scored an unbelievable goal. I am impressed with how fast he's adapted to the Premier League."

This game presents a big chance for Eberechi Eze to cement a starting place with Arsenal.

The Gunners captain Martin Odegaard is out with a knee injury and Eze has been selected to take his place.

He lines up in midfield alongside Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi and will be tasked with supplying chances for striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Eze has already had some good moments for Arsenal but not has a chance to secure a starting role for the next few weeks.

Crystal Palace

Palace striker Jean Philippe-Mateta speaking to BBC Sport: "With the last chance I had, I am very frustrated but take this one.

"For our fans, I think it was a good game to watch. For us as professionals and the gaffer, I don't think he is very happy. We were 2-0 down but we came back and were good.

"There is a fantastic spirit and you can see that today, we didn't give up."

On scoring for France: "It was a dream come true t and now I am back with Crystal Palace and working hard."

They're all at this "finishers" nonsense these days.

Burnley

Burnley defender Kyle Walker speaking to PLP: "It's a massive win. We all knew that especially when these teams [fellow bottom half clubs] come to Turf Moor that we need to turn it into our game. They are coming to our home and we need to take three points.

"Full congratulations to the lads. They put an excellent shift in today and congratulations to Loum for his first Premier League goal - it was a cracker."

On the subs making a difference: "We don't call them subs, we call them finishers. That is what they come on to do. They come on to finish the game and they've got a job to do. We are a team of 25 men in the dressing room, it's not just about the 11 that start the game."

On Loum: "His finishing in training is unbelievable. He is still young and still developing and needs to learn the English game, but from what we've seen he has got the full potential to go all the way."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton striker Danny Welbeck, speaking to BBC MOTD: "It was a very good win and it was very important for us. We've had some results where we've been pushing and not quite got there. We've been ahead here at home and have not got the three points. It was a test of our character today.

"We were well in control. Some good football and they nicked a goal. Once that happened, they got some momentum. It' good for us to see the progression.

"It was a good finish, I was happy with that. There's always that possibility the ball can fall your way. I was wondering if it could fall nicely for me and it did and I stuck it away.

"I love it. I have the passion and love for football. It's what I want to do. I feel good. I feel strong and fit so I won't be stopping soon.

On playing into his 40s: "I'm not looking that far ahead. I'm just enjoying my football and feeling strong. I'm enjoying the present."

Manchester City

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias speaking to BBC MOTD: "A lot of work, they were not easy at all. First half we were more troubled, we couldn't really set up our game. Completely different second half and three points.

"In the first half we had a clear chance from Savinho, one from Phil Foden and one from Jeremy Doku. We had chances, always happy when anyone scores and happy for Erling to score.

"He's a very important player for us, we want everyone to be involved and everyone to be scoring not just Erling. It's important that he's on his rhythm and makes a big difference for us when he is.

"One game at a time. We're good, improving, many coming back from injury which is good for us. Happy to see almost everyone available by now. We will keep on building and hopefully keep on winning."

In terms of Forest, I thought they were excellent in that first half. Chelsea took their chances in the second half and Forest didn't.

I'm very surprised, although at the same it looked inevitable. It is a results based business. If you get a result today, you build from that. If you look at the games he has been in charge, he has had some tough games Ange. If you're not getting points, then the owner is going to make a decision.

The difference is going from a defensive side who are great on the counter-attack to a manager who wants to play more extensively – that's going to take time.

They need stability, to go back to basics, go back to the football that they were playing last season.

The balance of the team doesn't seem right, so it is about going back to basics.

Once you go through this period as a player, you need someone to come in and give you confidence and also simply everything.

You mention the word 'chaos', but the owner has high expectations. That's probably what got them to Europe in the first place.

At this moment in time, they need calmness and stability.

Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta speaking to BBC Sport on looking upset: "Because I want to win every game, even if I did score a hat-trick. It was up to me to score the goal [with a late chance he missed] and I didn't score it, that is why I am like this.

"I need a few minutes to speak with the team and cool down but now I am upset."

On the game: "It was a fantastic game but for us we always want three points and that's the mentality, we got a point so that's OK."

On the fans: "The fans are always behind us and I love the fans."

Burnley

Burnley forward Loum Tchaouna speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I'm very happy, proud and satisfied because it's been hard work, I work every day with the team for this, and I am happy for the team."

On what Parker said to him before he came on: "He wanted me to give my best for the team. To help the team with my quality and style of play. I am fast, technical and a good finisher. I am happy I did it.

On his first Premier League goal: "I touch the ball, I turned, I watched the goalkeeper and he was not ready. I saw that I had an angle for the shot so I shot and it was a beautiful goal, so I am happy."

Sunderland

A reminder that Sunderland's Dutch goalkeeper cost £9m in the summer from NEC Nijmegen.

Roefs could turn out to be one of the signings of the season if he keeps the Black Cats up.

Fulham are no pushovers and they drew this fixture last season, but no-one is stopping Arsenal at the moment.

Martin Odegaard is out injured for a few weeks but it won't make a difference. Their squad depth is so strong and my feeling right now is that they are going to power their way to the title.

Manchester City

Man City midfielder Phil Foden speaking to PLP: "It was difficult. In the first half we weren't really at it. We weren't playing forward as quickly as we could do. We took too long on the ball and couldn't find the space in between the lines. The manager spoke about it at half time and in the second half we were much more meaningful with the ball going forward, breaking lines and yeah we created a lot. Overall we can be happy with the performance."

On the importance of Haaland breaking the deadlock when he did: "Very important. We know he's got that quality to time his runs to perfection and be in the right position. If they mark him out of the game he is still capable of scoring and we know he only needs one chance to score. He remained very patient, there wasn't a lot of space for him today. And as you can see he is always there for us at the right times, that is the sign of a world class striker."

On his own performance: "I think I am improving my relationship with Erling. I played a few good passes in behind for him today which he could have scored from. Unfortuantely every time I pass to him he seems to miss. We are dfinitely building that relationship. I'm finding that ball in behind and getting the ball into areas where he can score goals. Something we have been working on."

"It was an incredible pass from Georgi. We have an incredible connection. We're looking to build on that, keep on progressing and getting better.

"It's always difficult to win a Premier League game. We've had many times where we've gone ahead and maybe not got the points. We have the mentality to go again and get the points.

"It's nice to get another goal and put us in a winning position. We want to build a fortress and we're on our way to doing that."

Arsenal come into this match on the back of four successive wins.

The Gunners are also unbeaten in their last seven matches in all competitions.

A number of Arsenal's players performed well on international duty with Mikel Merino, Eberechi Eze, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli all finding the net for their countries.

Arsenal have not won on their last two visits to Craven Cottage but have the chance to continue building pressure at the top of the Premier League table.

That definitely doesn't look like a "we're gutted we've cost Ange his job" interview.

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest captain Ryan Yates speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I'll be honest. Ange came in after the game, debriefed the game and then I went out to do some running, I came back and news had broke that he had gone.

"Everybody has to take responsibility. I think it would be unfair to pin it on anybody. We have to look ourselves in the mirror and dust ourselves down and go again because things in football can change really quickly. That's what we are going to be thinking about."

On if he is saying that the players are to blame: "No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying partly we are to blame because we are the guys going out on to the pitch and trying to get results. As I just said things in football can change very quickly, with a good result on Thursday night we can get that good feeling back and we kick in."

On what he would say if the manager could hear him in that moment: "I've got nothing to say right now."
