It is brightening up, but it is certainly still raining.

It is a funny one with a delayed kick off - everyone thinks it upsets the players. Yes, it is not ideal, but we have been there and done it before.

When the game kicks off, it won't make one bit of difference. They're all ready to play in the World Cup. It is the last game, they'll be fine.

I think it is a balancing act. The good preparation that Thomas Tuchel is looking for is probably weather which is humid and hot. There was a risk of thunderstorms.

Fans are now being allowed back into the Inter & Co stadium having had to wait in the concourses because of the lightning.

There will be a pitch inspection in the next 10 minutes and then a kick-off time will be confirmed.

This is not the first time this has happened in these pre-tournament build-up matches.

Last week Saudi Arabia's World Cup warm-up game against Puerto Rico in Texas was halted for nearly two hours because of extreme weather.

The match at the Q2 Stadium in Austin was stopped in the 21st minute as thunderstorms and lightning forced players off the pitch, with messages telling fans to seek shelter.

There were a number of lightning strikes before the match eventually resumed.

It might not be the worst thing to experience.

My experience when I played in America it happened almost every weekend.

The bit I hated the most was the fuelling part and the psychology of the fuelling. The routine and what you eat is big psychologically to your preparation.

If a game is suspended because of the weather Fifa will address the matter on a case by case basis.

But there is no cut-off point, no maximum time players must wait before a match is called off.

Essentially, the kick-off time is the guide, with ensuring a stadium full of supporters make it home safely key to any decision.

The earlier in the day a match starts, the more time there is to play with.

What if Fifa has no choice but to abandon a game if conditions are not improving?

World Cup regulations state that the game would be played on a future date, restarting in the same minute as it was paused, with the remaining minutes played.

But with this being a friendly match, there could be a decision simply to call it off.

I think that was one of the question marks of the World Cup being in America, Canada and Mexico.

There was a potential storms could affect the rhythm of the game.

I have been there and done it with Man City, going to a pre-season tournament in Portland. It took us about six hours to complete a game.

There will be a delayed kick-off. The kick off time is to be advised. It is still raining, but only lightly. The pitch has drained really well and most of the surface water has disappeared.

There has just been another lightning strike nearby, which means it will be at least 30 minutes from that point until anyone is even allowed inside the stadium bowl.

We are hearing that the match will be delayed but no word yet on how long for.

Lashing it down? Oh my word, what is the next level up from lashing down?

The taxi driver dropped me off, and I made it into the stadium with seconds to spare. No word of a lie, there was more water on the playing surface than grass that we could see.

It is easing, and the cloud is starting to lift. The surface water is draining. I imagine we won't get on time for the kick-off at 21:00, but we will have to wait and see.

Whilst there is thunder and lightening int the air, they have to take that into consideration. They have to give at least 30 minutes.

Thunder storms in the United States are not uncommon. But when it comes to them impacting the football, Fifa has no power to make its own rules, it must adhere to the advice of local authorities.

In the US, recommendations of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are used.

The NOAA says that if any lightning strike is detected within eight miles of a stadium the game has to be stopped.

With an increased risk of lightning strikes, the safety of players and supporters is given paramount importance.

A mandatory 30-minute countdown begins. Each time there is a lightning strike inside the distance, the countdown clock resets to 30 minutes.

If a full 30 minutes has elapsed, the supporters can go back to their seats and players will have a short warm-up.

We are here in Sunshine State - well sort of.

The rain is biblical here in Orlando ahead of England’s final warm-up game versus Costa Rica.

There’s no communication yet regarding any delays or a full postponement - but what is for sure is that the game can’t go ahead like this.

England are due to take on Costa Rica in around 90 minutes time in their final warm-up match before the World Cup begins in just over 24 hours time.

But heavy rain, thunder and lightning in Orlando mean that is looking somewhat in doubt.

The pitch at the Inter & Co Stadium is currently almost under water and that puts this match under serious threat.

We'll bring you all the updates on the situation as they happen.
