Bournemouth

Bournemouth's hat-trick hero Justin Kluivert, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It’s amazing, wonderful. The best feeling ever.

"We always know we’re good. The start of the game is one of the most important things we focus on. That was good today. I’m super proud of the team.

"The squad isn’t that big at the moment. We have 12 fit first-team players. A result like this is just amazing. We trust in each other and believe in each other. I think that’s the spirit in our team.

"We can go very far. Players will come back from injury who we really need. We can dream big, but we just need to stay humble and keep working hard. We’ll see at the end where we can finish."

On his father, Patrick, who played for Newcastle in 2004-05: "I heard I had more goals than him here already, so that is one win over him. It’s nice to come here. I followed Newcastle when I was younger. Unfortunately for them, Kluivert now plays for another team."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola talking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was very, very good. I am very proud of the players. We played very well and a very mature game. I can't stay a lot. It was a fully deserved win. They are a very good team and you can never feel confident because they always push but we played a very complete game.

"Until they scored we played very well. We were brave and created chances. We finished strong and hats off to my players. I can't say anything else.

"It is difficult to find a better win, it is very difficult. We came into this game very thin and everybody has played their part and a little bit more. As a manager you feel very proud. We have very young players - centre-backs and a left-back and Lewis Cook playing out of position - and having to deal with top players. They were fantastic.

"I was concerned coming in because the difficulty of the game is very hard. They are flying. I was quite confident because of the second-half performance at Chelsea. I saw how we are dealing with the difficult situation. We've been very good.

"Justin [Kluivert] has been amazing. His duels and his defensive work was very good too. He scored very, very beautiful goals. I am happy for him and everyone. The club is working on a centre forward but the winter window is difficult, particularly for this position."

Newcastle United

Newcastle defender Dan Burn talking to Premier League Productions: "It is disappointing. To be fair to Bournemouth they were better all over the pitch. Technically they were a lot better on the play and physically we got outworked which is very unlike us and that is the most disappointing thing. The better team won.

"They set traps with the way they play. Their press is quite different to other teams and we played into it and suffered because of it.

"It was definitely us too. we are normally better on the ball and lost it in areas we usually don't. We've been on a great run and it is one blip. We'll just go again next game."

Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe talking to TNT Sports: "We weren't great today, we were beaten by the better team. I was disappointed from the start, physically we didn't look anywhere near our best today. Games just caught up with us today, we didn't have that bounce in our step that we usually have.

"From our perspective we have to be critical of ourselves and just say we weren't there today. That wasn't the performances we've seen of late and we just have to accept that and come back stronger.

"They played very well. They pressed us very well and upset our rhythm and we didn't adjust to that. We had our moments but we never felt like we had control like we have in this recent run. There is things for us to reflect on and learn on. I have to give them a lot of credit for how they played and the pressure they put us on and their athleticism and that was the standout feature, particularly in the second half

"We just looked a bit fatigued. That yard of pace we usually have in our usual game we didn't have. It was bitty and then second half the game got away from us.

"It will be a period of reflection and analysis and then we'll have to focus on our next game at Southampton. We have a lot to look forward to but it is important we digest today and go again."

Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe talking to BBC Match of the Day: "We were not at our best today, there is no doubt about it. Technically and physically we were not the team we've been in recent weeks and they played very, very well and made it a very difficult for us so full credit to them.

"I don't want to make excuses but I just felt there was fatigue in our performance today. We didn't start well and never played with the intensity we normally do and we were off in almost every phase. I'll put it down to physically right now but with a thorough analysis we'll see if I feel the same way.

"We made a big tactical switch at half time and throughout to try and invigorate us but it never happened. We have to respond and quickly. The big thing for us is we have a week in between so hopefully a change to recharge our batteries and then attack the game."
