    It's great that the spread between 6th and 17th is only 10 or 11 points after the midpoint of the season. Teams at the bottom are being slowly cut loose, despite Burnley heading for a win tonight, but a couple of wins for any team from about 14th upwards and they're in and around the European spots. The high standard of football runs further down the Premier League than any other major league in Europe, and the fight for European football next season will be a massive battle, with any of the top 16 capable of qualifying.

    You felt like Manchester United were improving towards the end of the half. That chance that came from the slide pass from Fernandes in behind and Dorgu dinking it over but Esteve cleared it off the line. Other than the cruel deflected goal Burnley haven't shown much.

    Fletcher has to find a formula at half time because they cannot lose this game.
