    Bangor 0-0 Carrick Rangers

Jack Scott’s corner is a poor one, failing to beat the first man as Harry Lynch clears with ease at the near post.

Not the delivery Stephen Baxter’s side would have wanted, given the threat they usually pose from set pieces.

    Glentoran 0-0 Portadown

Portadown, rather uncomfortably clear the ball before they get the opportunity to relieve the pressure with a goal kick.

    Glentoran 0-0 Portadown

Pat Hoban produces a sumptuous pass to Dylan Connolly whose dangerous cross is cleared behind for a corner by Portadown's Lewis Mackinnon.

    Bangor 0-0 Carrick Rangers

Lee Feeney’s gone with a 4-4-2 tonight, a shift from the five-man defence used against Larne. Perhaps the Bangor boss fancies his side to offer a bit more going forward.

  5. Postpublished at 19:52 GMT 31 October 2025

    Bangor 0-0 Carrick Rangers

First real chance of the night as Paul Heatley bursts in behind the Bangor defence and takes it early, flashing his shot just wide of the far post.

  6. Postpublished at 19:50 GMT 31 October 2025

    Glentoran 0-0 Portadown

Ben Wylie pulls back Ryan Cooney as the Glentoran defender attempts to burst up the touchline.

In many other games, that would have been a yellow card but referee Ben McMaster perhaps gives the Portadown midfielder the benefit of the doubt in the slippery conditions.

    Bangor 0-0 Carrick Rangers

A lively start at Clandeboye Park, but neither side can get a grip on the ball. Both keep going long, and it’s turning into a bit of a pinball contest with composure in short supply.

    Glentoran 0-0 Portadown

Glentoran's Liam Burt, buoyed by a strong performance as a sub last week, tries his luck from distance but it's well off target.

Glentoran have made a very impressive start to the season. Their consistency has been most note-worthy.

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:46 GMT 31 October 2025

    Bangor 0-0 Carrick Rangers

Under way at Clandeboye Park, where Bangor are chasing a third straight home league win.

Carrick, meanwhile, will hope to end a tough away run that’s brought only three wins in their last 25 league trips.

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:46 GMT 31 October 2025

    Glentoran 0-0 Portadown

After a bit of a false start, referee Ben McMaster gets the ball rolling at The Oval.

Given the heavy rain earlier today, the playing surface is in surprisingly good condition, apart from one particular area near the 18-yard box at the City End of the ground.

It will be interesting to see how much the pitch deteriorates as the game goes on.

    Glentoran v Portadown (19:45 GMT)

Portadown have picked up five wins in the Irish Premiership this season so far, with three of those coming in their past five games.

Niall Currie's side were the victors at the Oval last season and will be hoping to register another victory in east Belfast tonight.

However, that result ended a 12-game winless run and was their first league victory there since 2013, so Currie will know it is going to be a tough task.

  17. Recruitment key to Glentoran's good start - Devinepublished at 19:37 GMT 31 October 2025

    Glentoran v Portadown (19:45 GMT)

Glentoran boss Declan Devine says adding "serious quality" in the summer transfer window has helped his side enjoy a good start to the season.

Players brought in during the summer such as Pat Hoban, Jordan Stewart and Ryan Cooney have all impressed this season and on Thursday the club added former Everton goalkeeper Billy Crellin on a deal for the remainder of the campaign.

Devine believes the new recruits have raised standards as the club chase a first league title since 2009.

"It takes you a couple of transfer windows to get the squad you really want, and we were able to add serious quality in the last window with Liam Burt, Pat Hoban, Daniel Larmour, Jordan Stewart and Ryan Cooney - big players," he told BBC Sport NI's Nicola McCarthy.

"The recruitment has been key, and a lot of those players have been serial winners in their career, so having that influx of people that have been there and done it has really helped the environment and given us a depth of quality."

Bangor v Carrick Rangers (19:45 GMT)

Lee Feeney makes four changes from the side that earned a hard-fought point at Inver Park, with Kyle Owens, Lewis Harrison, Jay Boyd and Oisin Devlin all drafted in for Stephen McGuinness, Jack O’Mahoney, Robbie Garrett and Michael Morgan.

Stephen Baxter names an unchanged side from the one narrowly beaten 1-0 by Cliftonville at Taylors Avenue, as his team looks to rediscover their spark after a testing spell.

The Seasiders can leapfrog champions Linfield into fourth place with victory this evening, adding an extra edge to what promises to be a lively contest at Clandeboye Park.

    Glentoran v Portadown (19:45 GMT)

Glentoran make two changes from the side which started last week’s last-gasp win at Crusaders.

Danny Amos returns from injury while Liam Burt starts, after an impressive cameo display as a sub at Seaview.

They replace Ciaran Coll, who drops to the bench and James Singleton, who is banned after picking up a fifth yellow card last weekend.

Suspensions also play a significant part in Portadown manager Niall Currie’s line-up.

With first choice keeper Aaron McCarey sin-binned following his red card against Coleraine last weekend, back-up Alex Moore’s return from injury is a timely boost.

Central defender Baris Altintop is also suspended after collecting five cautions – he is replaced in defence by Lee Chapman, who has completed a ban of his own.

Ben Quinn starts a league game for the first time, at the expense of Rayhaan Tulloch.

Glentoran: Mills, Cooney, McEleney, Kane, Amos, Kelly, Palmer, Burt, Connolly, Hoban, Jenkins.

Subs: Crellin, Thomson, Pattisson, Coll, Kamara, Fisher, Russell.

  20. Carrick 'didn't do enough in first half' - Baxterpublished at 19:31 GMT 31 October 2025

Bangor v Carrick Rangers (19:45 GMT)

Carrick Rangers manager Stephen Baxter said his side "didn't do enough in the first half" din their 1-0 loss against Cliftonville at Taylors Avenue.

Shaun Leppard's early header gave the away side the lead and, despite the home side upping the tempo in the second half, they couldn't find a way past Peter Morrison.

The result puts to an end the Reds' run of three-game losing run in the league with Carrick now without a win in two games.

"We just didn't do enough in the first half and by putting yourself on the back foot, you are chasing the game," Baxter told BBC Sport NI.

"I am thrilled with how we came into the game in the second half. We were a big match for Cliftonville here today, but the disappointment is you don't go away with anything in your pocket."

It has been a challenging month for Carrick in the league as they have registered just three points in four games.

Stephen Baxter's side will try to get back to winning ways against Bangor tonight. However, the 60-year-old said their next opponents have been "the surprise package in the league" this year.

"Bangor have been the surprise package in the league and sometimes coming in from a different league, the Championship, you play with a little bit of freedom and have a go at it," Baxter continued.

"They have done exceptionally well, signed some very good players, have a style of play that is their own and they play really well.

"They have been a handful for everyone they have played this year, so we know we have a tough game for us."
